You and your boyfriend Max had been dating for nearly 8 months and it couldn't have been more perfect. You were just about to move in with him, he was the one person who made you truly happy and always put a smile on your face.

Never in a million years would you have asked for someone better, especially after your last relationship. You wanted something a little more...normal.

At least more normal than dating the Original Hybrid who turned out to be a selfish, egotistical and all round power crazy guy. It had ended pretty badly to say the least and the one thing you always dreaded was accidentally seeing him again.

You didn't think it would be too much of a problem, you'd moved out of Mystic Falls to live with Max. That meant less chance of ever seeing Klaus again, unless he sought you out.

Luckily he hadn't tried anything yet, but you were certain that he knew where you were. That terrified you most.

He could see you, but you couldn't see him.

Tonight you were excited, Max was picking you up at 4 to go and meet his parents for dinner. It had been 8 months and you still hadn't met them, because they are always away and they live in a different state altogether.

You were currently applying some makeup to make your face look presentable, but not too much because you didn't want to look like a barbie doll. Max hadn't really told you a dress code, so you just went with some smart white trousers and a peach lacy top with boot heels. It was smart/ casual which was perfect for all occasions in your eyes.

A knock at your door startled you, as you looked yourself over one last time before going to open the door. You were greeted by Max and invited him in swiftly.

"Hey you look amazing." He smiled as you blushed and kissed him.

"Thanks, you don't look too bad yourself." You laughed as you grabbed your bag from the table and turned back around to Max.

"Shall we get going then?" He asked and lead the way out to his car as you nodded.

"Where do your parents live again?" You asked as you got in the car and fastened our seat belts, you knew it would be a long journey.

"In Virginia, it's a small town so you probably haven't heard of it. Mystic Falls?"

Your breath left you in a short gasp as your eyes widened, Max frowned at you.

"You know it?" He asked in confusion.

"Uh yeah, something like that." You spoke and swallowed hard, trying to hide how terrified you were.

"Come on you can tell me." He smiled reassuringly as you thought about what to tell him.

"Umm... It's nothing I just used to live there that's all. I haven't been back in a while." You mumbled and shrugged it off, Max giving you a concerned glance.

"We don't have to go if you don't want to." He offered as he turned onto a road. You thought for a moment, but decided that you had to go back. It would be rude not to see his parents and besides Klaus is probably long gone by now.

"No no it's fine, I'm okay to go." You decided and nodded at him, Max nodded and turned back to the road.

Most of the journey was silent apart from the songs that played on the radio, however you weren't listening to them. Instead you were replaying the image of when you left Mystic Falls for good with a yelling angry Klaus behind you, however he was always one step ahead of you.
