"how's it going with your sister?" archie asked betty
everyone was sitting in the student lounge, veronica and andrew were sitting together on the couch, jughead and madison were sitting in chairs beside each other, archie was sitting on a chair beside betty, kevin was sitting on the edge of a table while cheryl sat on a foot stool
"polly convinced herself that no one wants her baby." betty replied
"besides of course the child snatching blossom monsters. no offense cheryl." kevin said as andrew chuckled
"none taken." cheryl replied
"so your mom and dad want polly but not the baby and the blossoms want the baby and not polly. it's a true gordian knot." jughead said grabbing madison hand
"this sounds like and impossible situation." madison said
"guys, come on. an impossible situation is being invited to the vanity flair oscar party and elton johns oscar party on the same night which happened to me one year. I know." veronica said looking to the twins who were also invited to those parties
"this is merely an annoying situation. but luckily i have been percolating on an idea, hellishly simple in its conception. what if my mom and i were to host a baby shower?" veronica suggested
"count me in." cheryl said smiling
"me too." madison said
"you want polly to feel loved and supported right?" veronica asked
"yeah, but ideally by her own parents." betty replied
"okay, so baby steps girl. get polly and your parents in the same room, in a public setting where they can't fight and voila, let the healing begin." veronica said
"am i expected to come to this thing?" jughead asked
"of course, you're madison's boyfriend so." veronica said as everyone went quiet
"oh my god you guys relax. it's just a word that starts with the letter B." veronica said as madison and jughead smiled at each other lovingly
"what about andrew? he's your boyfriend does he have to come." madison said as everyone turned to see andrew nodded his head no
"come on babe, someone has to keep jughead company." veronica said putting her hand on top of his
"you get to see me in a pretty dress." veronica said
"okay fine." andrew said giving in knowing that he'd love to see how beautiful veronica looks
