where a photographer teams up with a novelist to figure out the truth of what really happened on the night of july 4th. the night of jason blossoms murder.
"madison move it we're gonna be late!" samantha said as madison took one last look at her outfit

and headed out of the bathroom and hopped in the car with sam and andrew
"did you know sheriff kellers house was broken into last night?" samantha said
"did they take antything?" andrew asked
"yeah they took a bunch of case files and police audios and stuff." sam said
samantha was a close friend of kevin's so she knew about what happened
once madison was at school she went straight to the Blue and Gold office
"hey." she said greeting jughead as he looked at her and smiled
he placed his arms around her and kissed her softly
"hey." jughead said with a smile
"ahem." kevin said interrupting their moment
"now that i have your attention. this is how my dad had his jason blossom murder board before it was trashed." kevin said
"any leads on who did that?" jughead asked
"and what they were looking for?" madison added
"nope. no fingerprints. but they stole a bunch of files, background checks and all the video and audio tapes of police interviews." kevin explained
they heard the door open and it was trevor, valerie's brother, he used to be on the football team he's also the one who helped the girls find the playbook
"hey." he said to betty
"trev, hi." she said smiling brightly
"sorry to interrupt, but-" he began
"oh, no. it's okay. we're just working on-" betty began
"our murder board." jughead said causing madison to laugh
"well, I just wanted to make sure we're still on for tomorrow." trev said
"absolutely. it's a date." betty said tilting her head and smiling
"i mean, I'll see you there. bye." betty corrected herself
"uh, see you." trev said walking out
"going on a date with trev? does mama cooper know about that?" kevin asked
"kev, I'm not on house arrest. okay, she's out of town at a women in journalism spa retreat." betty said
"anyway, I mean it's not a date date." betty said
"you just called it a date. you literally said, it's a date." jughead said as madison nodded in agreement
"that's just my cover. really, it's an intelligence-gathering mission. we should focus on the one thing we have access to that you dad doesn't the kids at riverdale high. you know, maybe trev knowns something about jason he didn't think was important." betty said looking to kevin
after that kevin, betty, jughead, veronica, madison and andrew went outside to the football yard to sit on the bleachers
madison and jughead were holding hands as they walked along the field trailing behind the group
"betty, you're positively radiating nicholas sparks. tell me everything about this trev." veronica said
"there's nothing to tell. just one of betty's sources. there's nothing romantic in the offing." kevin said
"until she hears 'mr.gray will see you now'." madison joked causing the group to laugh
they found a place to sit close to archie who was working on a song, betty sat next to archie and veronica sat next to betty while andrew tried sitting next to veronica but she placed her bag next to her. veronica then moved her bag over to let kevin sit beside her. jughead and madison sat behind the group and andrew beside madison
"so archie tell me how's life in a pg world?" madison asked as she got confused looks
"post-grundy." her and veronica said at the same time
archie turned his head away and went back to his music
"too soon?" veronica said as andrew let out a small chuckle
madison looked over and saw her friend valerie
"hey val." she said with a warm smile
"hey mads." she replied returning the smile
"so i know grundy was helping you with your music." valerie said turning to archie
"understatement of the year." veronica joked
valerie gave archie the number of a music producer
"i'll see you guys later." valerie said walking off
"wicked witch of the west is approaching." andrew joked which would normally make veronica laugh but it seemed like she was ignoring him
"sorry to interrupt your sad breakfast club. i'm here to formally invite you to jason's memorial at thornhill this weekend." cheryl said giving them all an invitation
"to my surprise and chagrin, mother added you to the guest list. in case you're tempted to steal our sliver candlesticks, don't. we'll be searching bags." cheryl said as she passed an invitation to veronica
"hey, try to remember, she's burying her brother." betty said
before school ended madison approached veronica
"hey v, is everything okay with you and drew?" she asked
veronica let out a sigh and looked at madison "it's nothing maddie, me and andrew are fine." she replied
okay so don't hate me, it will be explained probably in the next chapter why veronica is ignoring andrew. hope you enjoy this chapter!
