at lunch madison sat next to jughead and betty, across from them was kevin and archie

once madison saw archie her anger started to boil, jughead could sense she was on edge so he grabbed her hand causing her to look into his eyes as she felt herself calm down

"madison i'm so sorry, i was drunk and-"

"save it red. i'm not the one you should apologize to." madison said

"excuse me but i have an announcement to make." cheryl said causing everyone to look at her

"one that tangentially involves you, betty. i'm brining polly to the dance as my date and we're campaigning as co-queens of homecoming court." cheryl said

"because why?" betty asked

"because, nightmare smurfette, by all rights, it should've been polly and jason on that stage being crowned. this is the next best thing. so... don't forget to vote, and i'll see everyone at my coronation." cheryl said then walked off

veronica finally convinced andrew to come to school and offered to drive him which he accepted

once they got to the lunch table veronica sat beside kevin and andrew sat beside veronica

"did you guys make up?" betty asked as everyone turned to the couple

"you can say that." andrew said smiling at his girlfriend

"my ship is still endgame and that's all that matters right now." kevin said as veronica and andrew both chuckled

madison and betty went over to the gym to help decorate for the homecoming dance

madison was up on a latter setting up some lights while betty was setting up a photo booth

madison would hear a phone ringing and identified it as bettys

"betty your phone is ringing." madison said as betty rushed over to answer it

madison stepped off the latter to see what everyone else was doing when she heard her boyfriend

"hey, you." jughead said causing her to smile at him

"why didn't you tell me about the dinner?" jughead asked causing madison to become confused

"what do you mean?" madison asked him

"your mom basically tackled me in the hall to invite my dad and i over before the dance. did you not know?" jughead asked seeing the look on her face

"i'm so sorry with everything going on it completely slipped my mind." madison lied

"i'm a little terrified by the social experiment of it all, but i think it's good for our families to get to know each other. i think it's important for us, you know?" jughead said with a smile

madison grabbed the box out of his hands that he had been holding and then wrapped her arms around the back of his neck and kissed him softly

once madison got home she went into the kitchen to see her mother

"mom what the hell are you up to?" madison asked her

"what do you mean sweetheart? i'm making blueberry pie for our guest." jessica replied

"yeah but why would you just invite jughead and his father over without even talking to me first? you're hiding something." madison implied
