"well would you look at that." raymond said reading the paper
the montgomery family were all sitting down at the table eating breakfast
"what is it deer?" jessica asked
"turns out clifford's family business was sealing drugs instead of maple syrup." raymond said reading it off the register
"does it say what happened to the other serpent, mustang?" samantha asked
"it says that clifford killed him to cover up his tracks." raymond said taking off his glasses and placing them on the table
"well you kids better get ready for school, don't be late please. i left your lunch money in your bags." jessica said as all three siblings thanked her and they went upstairs to get ready for the day
madisons outfit ^^
andrew, archie, madison and betty were all going to walk to school that morning
"they're acting like the last few weeks, months didn't even happen. pollys back home, my dads back home, my mom is back at the register. they all just keep smiling and talking about the jubilee." betty ranted
"that's good right?" archie asked
"yeah that's totally great archie. it's not like they're trying to act like the perfect family who's actually such a tragedy." andrew said causing betty to glare at him
"sorry betty." madison said as she hit the back of andrews head
"our family imploded guys, we barely survived. if we don't start dealing with our crap, it's all gonna happen again." betty said as she walked away
"what about you guys? how are you doing?" archie asked the twins
"well our parents are back to acting like danielle never existed." madison said
"and let's not forget sammies odd behavior ever since danielle left town." andrew added
-
archie and madison sat down in front of mayor mccoy and principal wheaterbee since they were both called to the office
"archie, madison. i'd like to feature you both at the jubilee. as you know, it's our 75th anniversary of our towns founding, and also a kick off for the next 75 years and who better represents the future of riverdale than the young people, who working with sheriff keller and my office, helped bring peace and justice to our streets once more." mayor mccoy said
"pardon me, mayor mccoy that's lovely and all but it's not exactly what i would say happened." madison said
"let the mayor finish miss montgomery." principal wheaterbee said to her
"archie, the pussycats will be performing at the jubilee, and i would love for you to join them. madison, I think it's important that we hear from riverdale's best and brightest. what do you say, both of you?" mayor mccoy asked
"uh, what about jughead?" archie asked and madison nodded
"i like jughead. and he's welcome to attend the jubilee of course. but his father is in jail and i think it might be confusing to have him up on the jubilee stage." she explained
"well that's a little unfair don't you think?" madison spoke up
"madison, archie. you're heroes. the kind of heroes that riverdale desperately needs right about now." mayor mccoy replied
-
"i told her i wouldn't do it. not unless you're up there with us." madison said looking at jughead
"i appreciate the righteous indignation, maddie, i do. but jubilees aren't my thing." jughead told her
"jug how's your dad? did you get to see him?" archie asked
"here's the latest. mayor mccoy wants my dad to name names in exchange for a lesser sentence." jughead told the group
"what? who's names?" betty asked
"the serpents. sheriff keller thinks they're the ones dealing the drugs that clifford blossom brought into the town." jughead explained
"oh course." madison said with a sigh
"my dad says more and more drugs are hitting the streets." kevin said
"kevin relax." andrew said
"yeah, this isn't the wire. my dad says they don't deal." jughead said
"meanwhile mayor mccoy hasn't even said the words clifford or blossom in public. she only talks about how the serpents are the big problem. as if they're the villains. i'm going to write an article about this because it's so outrageous. not just for the blue and gold but for the register too. this is a town story." madison ranted
"okay, as long as the article doesn't include my dad." jughead said looking at his girlfriend
"no jug it has to be about your dad. because no matter how many jubliees the mayor wants to throw. this town has changed. that needs to be acknowledged. i don't understand why people are so afraid of the truth." madison said taking a bite of her food
here's a new chapter!
