I woke up to Boris not being there, so I figured he was in the kitchen. And then I got one of those headaches again. They were so intense. I felt like my head was going to explode. I had been having these for a while, but no doctor could tell us what it was. I took an aspirin and put on my glasses. I groggily walked to the kitchen to find Boris bopping. He looked like an actual toddler while dancing. Luckily, he hadn't noticed me yet, so I just watched for a while longer. "Nice moves!" I shouted, which caused him to spin around and look at me with embarrasment in his eyes. I laughed, and eventually he did too. "What are you listening to?" I asked. "Africa, y'know, by Toto." He signed. I hadn't heard it before, obviously. But the vibrations were a bop. And that's when it happened. I could hear a faint noise,
It was very muffled and weird. Though I assumed it was my imagination.
"How's your head today Potter?" He signed to me still bopping his head slightly and tapping his heel on the kitchen tile.
"Terrible. It hurts. I'm going to take some aspirin, three pills. Since two didn't change much. I said, though I felt as if I could hear myself talk. My imagination I still guessed. I opened the cabinet and grabbed the aspirin bottle, I kind of stared into the distance for a while. I guess Boris noticed because he looked at me weird. "Are you sure? You don't seem yourself." He signed, worried. "Boris, try talking to me with your voice." I said seriously. "Okay, I'm talking to you know, although I doubt you can hear me." He said. I stared at him, shocked. I could hear him, extremely muffled, but it was something. "Boris, I can hear you..."
He looked at me in confusion and disbelief.
I sat down on the floor with my back against the cabinet door.
Boris crouched down in-front of me, putting his hand on my cheek. "You can what? You can hear me?" He said. I nodded with wide eyes.
He stood back up for a moment, which felt like eternity. He turned around then scooped my body off the ground. I didn't know what was happening. I was in shock. I hadn't been able to hear for years. And it was happening. I started to cry, happy tears, tears of relief. I might be able to hear. That's CRAZY. Boris just held me. He sang that lullaby softly, that he always used to sign to me. I could only hear it muffled, but it was something amazing. "I love you so so much Boris." I said. He pulled me away from his chest to look at him, my legs tightly wrapped around his waist to keep from falling.
He shushed me and wiped the tears that fell from my eyes at a rapid pace.
My hearing began to clear up. His muffled voice began to turn into a smooth voice with a heavy Russian accent, which made my heart melt with cuteness,
