"If I know what love is, it is because of you." - Hermann Hesse

I drove home.
Boris in the passenger seat. He was freaking out about something, calling people frantically. One after another. Until he put his phone down one last time and covered his face with his hands.
I quickly glanced over, wanting to pull him into a hug. But knowing I'd have to do that later. "What's wrong?" I asked. He looked up. "Forest fires rapidly spreading around our area. Afraid we might have to evacuate." He said, my eyes widened. I gripped the steering wheel. "What will happen if our..." I said, not having any words to add. "We'll have to stay in a hotel until o figure something out i don't know!" He yelled. We were pulling into the driveway. Once I parked the car, I didn't hesitate to wrap my arms around his body. "Hey. Don't worry about it right now." I whispered. He nodded. Sniffling and gripping onto the back of my shirt.
When I opened the door. I was greeted by the smell of smoke in the air. I coughed and headed inside, pulling Boris along side me. Reaching home felt so different after the news. I loved this home with my life. It's everything I need. But what if it gets burned down?... this year has been a pain, full of hurt and sorrow. I need a break. Seriously.

God. Give me some time.
