While the others are looking for their friends, let's have a brief flashback to what happened to the person all this is about:

Eri had been totally carefree while she and Mr. West were getting food, until there was black smoke and a scary voice, and then...worst of all--so bad she thought it was a nightmare at first--her old master!

Overhaul had dragged her away from Mr. West before she could even see what happened to him. But he assured her that Mr. West would be hurt badly because of her.

Eri wanted to believe it was one of her old nightmares...but as it didn't go away, she realized it was real.

Overhaul brought her to this creepy, dark building and dragged her under the ground.

Eri struggled to get away with all the effort she could muster, harder than she'd ever tried to before, because she just knew that whatever Overhaul was going to make her do this time, it was going to be even worse than before.

She broke free a few times, but Overhaul just moved her back with the wall, and then he disabled her legs so she couldn't run.

Eri was not even frightened by this so much as she was expecting it... She couldn't use her quirk on herself. Either it didn't affect her, or if it did, it had to be on purpose, with a level of control she didn't have.

At first it was so unreal to be there that she was less afraid of Overhaul than she was desperate to get away, but once she'd been brought to a small, dark room that was basically a cage, and shoved in, she knew it was too late...and the fear came on her strongly.

All the time away seemed like a dream... This is what the end of it was.

Overhaul said those catch words to her.

"Come now Eri," he said in his dreadful voice, "you knew all along you'd never get away from me. All that time in prison just made me realize better how to do things. Just a minor setback. They even took my quirk, but I got it back. Without you."

Eri whimpered.

Overhaul was still missing his arms then. "But I don't know. I kind of miss having my arms... I heard you've been working on controlling your quirk? You think you could help me out?"

Eri shook her head, trembling. "I won't help you!" she said, "You're a very bad man!"

"Bad? Me?" Overhaul said, leaning down, "Eri, I told you, I'm the only one who can really keep your power in check. You belong with me. You must see all I did was to prevent you from hurting more people, you naughty girl. You didn't listen to me, and now that red haired fool is hurt too... Do you want me to have to hurt more of your friends?"

Eri shuddered. "No..."

"So, then, you'll do as I asked."

"No," Eri protested, "Mr. Aizawa said never to use my quirk for evil!"

Eri knew what evil was the way most kids do-- from stories. But she knew it was what Overhaul was.

Overhaul seemed to dislike that. "Is that what he told you I am? I'll deal with him in good time... They'll all regret the way they crossed me. They'll pay for it in full...but in the meantime, Eri, do I need to give you a demonstration of what happens when you disobey me?"

He looked toward the door. One of his people, a new one, was shoved in by the wall itself.

Overhaul began taking them apart.

"No! No! Stop!" Eri screamed.

Overhaul paused. "Well?"

"I'll do what you wanted," Eri said miserably, "Don't hurt them."
