Part 183: Canadian Ninja Warrior

The tram took them across the city in about 30 minutes. They didn't have a lot of time now. They had to book it out of the city and down the walk way that said it led to Pure Lake.

"Anyone else notice that Pure Lake kind of sounds like a play on words?" Wally said, "If you say it real fast, it sounds like 'purely.'"

[Who got that before he did?]

"Could be purely a coincidence," Shine quipped.

Wally laughed.

"Enough jokes." Mirko was tense. "Now that we're out of that village, what is our plan? We're just walking around that?"

She pointed.

The lake was huge, at least a mile or two in diameter.

"Well, that's nice," Shine said, "It's quite lovely."

"We're not here to sight-see!" Mirko said, "How do we get around that in less than half an hour without using our quirks?"

"Well, now that we're not in the city, I can use my speed." Wally said. "I'll just run us around."

"Wait," Hawks said, "should we scout first? You can't just run us there."

Momo pulled out binoculars. "I can see the watchtower. It really is a life guard station...only I think the life guard has a gun."

"Of course," Shine said.

"I don't see an other guards, but that doesn't mean they aren't there," Momo said, "Maybe they only come out if someone gets close. I don't want to rush in... This almost feels unfair though. Those people are so peaceful, and we don't know that they've really done anything wrong, and we're going to cause them trouble."

"They kidnapped our friend, and that's what you're worried about?" Iida said.

"They didn't," Shine said, "The monsters over there did. Now, Ren, you brought those comlinks, right?"

"Right here." Ren pulled out a container of them. "Everyone take one. I cleaned them, no worries."

"We should split into teams again," Shine said, "We'll be less easy to spot that way, and if they find some of us, I can portal them to a different group."

"Well, we still have 4 lines, plus Intelli," Ren said, "so how should we split up?"

"Monama and I work better together," Medea said, "I can't control my power well alone, so we'd better be in the same group."

"All right," Shine agreed, "Let's keep one adult per group at least. You can go with Hawks. That should fill out your powers."

"I'll take Peaches with me," Wally said, "I don't have any technical powers, so I need someone with that."

"I'll go with you," Camie said, "then you have a stealth person too."

"You'll need someone with fire power." Bakugo crossed his arms.

"Okay," Wally said.

"Iida, you're with me," Shine said, "Ren too. You're the weakest fighter. We can protect you."

"Can't I go with Rumi?" Ren said.

"No, you'll distract her too much," Shine said, "I know how siblings are. I have some of my own. Better to separate you."

"That's fine," Mirko said then, "Wait, that only leaves..."

Shigaraki.

"Uh...do we really need 4 teams?" Mirko said.
