The group hiding out remembered that they had in fact captured one ninja. The woman had appeared to pass out afterward, but after hours of it raining, they began to suspect she was faking it.
So Spinner "woke" her up by pricking her with his sword.
Sure enough, she twitched.
Silk had tied her up some time ago-- so she could not move much, except to glare at them all.
The LOV proposed torturing her for information. Wally didn't want to do that. It wasn't his style.
Mirko didn't think interrogation was going to work well on someone who'd taken a blood oath to renounce their quirk. How easily could they scare?
Hawks thought a mutually beneficial deal would be best...but the ninja didn't have any interest in that...based on how her response was to spit at him.
"Just let us destroy her limbs," Shigaraki whined to Wally.
He said "let" because if Wally really wanted to stop him, he'd have no problem doing so with his speed. It was annoying to have to take that into consideration. Shigaraki wouldn't have in the past really cared much if his opponent was stronger...but without All For One or Kurogiri to back him up, he'd been becoming painfully aware that it was not wise to just ignore threats.
"No way," Wally said, "That's just inhumane."
"They would have no problem doing it to one of us. That's what they want!" Shigaraki argued back.
He thought he hated arguing to have to get his way. "Anyway, it's my right to kill or maim whatever I don't like."
Mirko and Hawks just shot him looks of disgust.
"Ew," Mirko said.
"As opposed to heroes needing to earn a license first to do it?" Compress said to her snidely.
"Who told you that?" Wally never did remember all of what Shine told him about their talks... She tended to include a lot of details very quickly.
"Master, of course," Shigaraki said.
Wally almost choked on a nervous/derogatory laugh. "Uh...can I suggest there's alternative ways to think of things. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should."
"Then what's the point of being able to do it?" Shigaraki thought this was stupid.
"Okay..." Wally said, "How's this? You have the right to kill or maim whatever you don't like, as long as you give every single person in this room who doesn't like you that same right, because let's face it, you're not above us all. Does that work for everyone?"
"Works for me." Mirko liked Wally's style.
"Me too," the ninja said, with a very disdainful glance at Shigaraki.
"Can I count in that?" Medea said, "'Cause I don't like him that much either."
"Watch it, newbie," Shigaraki snapped, "And that's preposterous, West."
"Why? Why should you get special treatment, dude?" Wally said casually, "Fair is fair."
Spinner sniggered. He actually found Shigaraki's whining kind of annoying at times, and this was amusing him.
Shigaraki, naturally, couldn't think of a real reason Wally was wrong... Strange that thought never occurred to him before...
Well, Master always did like to teach by experience...
"Well, I don't care that much anyway," he said aloud, snidely, "But it's not getting us anywhere like this."
Wally sighed. "For all we know it could be too late for... I mean..."
