Getting out of the room was the hard part. The door didn't exist.

They deduced, tacitly, that Overhaul had probably removed it.

Mirko seemed to take that as a sign to vent her frustrations by trying to kick a hole in the wall.

Dabi and Shigaraki ignored that.

"So, how do we get out, then?" Dabi wondered.

"I hate saying it, but we might need those numskulls' help," Shigaraki shuddered, "if they can get away from Chisaki's clutches."

"So they all went in a weird elevator except you and...you know." Dabi glanced at Mirko, still ramming a dent in the wall. "I really can't think of the right name for that, but, anyway, no one thought, 'Oh, maybe this isn't a good idea since this whole hell hole kinda moves on its own a lot'?"

"Technically, it moves because of the gang, but it was one of those times where no one has a better idea than the obvious trap," Shigaraki said.

"Ah, like a video game where you have no choice but to play the scenario, even if you know it's rigged," Dabi said.

"Yes, precisely. That's what this whole thing has been from start to finish," Shigaraki complained.

"Hey, dumba---s," Mirko said. They looked up. "If you were paying attention, you might have noticed I finally got somewhere." She gestured. There was sizable hole in the wall. On the other side was just more space, dimly lit.

"This is like a bunker," Dabi said distastefully, "but I guess it's better than standing here..."

Mirko made no reply, just bounded through the hole.

They followed more clumsily. Dabi rubbed his arm some more.

Shigaraki would have not bothered talking, but Dabi got bored if he didn't have someone to make commentary to, so he spoke.

"So, Rabbit Hero, this typically how you fight villainy? Getting stuck somewhere for hours without a back up plan?"

Mirko shot him a dirty look. "Is this how you pull off evil schemes?"

"Touche, I guess," Dabi shrugged, "It's just funny, you know. You're supposed to be so much better, and yet you're just as helpless as we are."

"Don't lump us in with that!" Shigaraki snapped, "It's totally different!"

"Why?" Dabi said.

"Overhaul hates us," Shigaraki said, "He's just toying with us. That's the reason for this situation, not incompetency."

"How is it any different for you to be useless because he's got it in for you, or for a hero to be having a slightly harder time than expected taking him down," Mirko retorted snippily.

"Oh, wow, did you just admit you're having a hard time? Not very Plus Ultra of you," Dabi said.

"I'm not a UA grad." Mirko gave him a weird look.

"A what? So?" Dabi said.

"That's UA's motto, not mine," Mirko explained, like he was dense.

"Why would I care? You're all the same," Dabi said, "Except maybe if you were from UA, you'd actually be higher ranking, since the system is rigged."

Mirko started to say something angry, then paused. "You know what? That is true."

Dabi didn't expect her to agree. "Huh?"

"It is rigged toward UA. Probably all that government funding," Mirko shrugged, "But that's fine. I don't need their charity. I'll climb the ranks, just wait."
