I miss the days

Although I do not think any of the elections will change a damn thing, I'm glad it's over with and we don't have to hear about it anymore, well, maybe after today we won't. I do not consider myself Republican or Democrat, although I am most likely closer to Republicrat than I am to Demican.

America has politically corrected itself out of existance.

I miss the days when my neighbor could speak of being Church of Christ, because, if you didn't agree with this choice of church, you could take a big old dose of get the hell over it. Or another neighbor could speak of being Muslim and if I didn't agree with that choice I could go get my bottle of the same medicine.

I miss the days of everyone being expected to work for a living or get real hungry. We would feed your kids, but you could do without.

I miss the days of a parent spanking a kids behind for speaking disrespectfully to an adult, or in the case of my parents, even to another child.

I miss the days when, if you got in trouble at school, you could take it to the bank that your parents wouldn't be going to jump on your teacher, you would be rubbing your behind for at least a day or two.

I miss the days when people respected your decision if your 12 year old was raped and became pregnant, or your doctor told you that giving birth to a child was going to kill you, whichever way your decision went, because it was YOUR decision.

Don't get me wrong, those days weren't perfect by a long shot, but sometimes, when the pendulum swings, it swings to far.
