My sister, LaJeanne, asked me today if I remembered the little old ladies at the Houston Quilt show, we laughed all afternoon about them.

About 5 years ago, Jeanne wanted to go to the quilt show in Houston, but she didn't want to go by herself, I am not into quilting, but I told her I would go with her. We rode on the Senior Ministries bus. First the little lady bus driver was in the wrong lane on the interstate in Houston and cut across like 4 lanes of traffic and almost made the whole bus full of us have a stroke.

Then we got it and walked and walked and walked looking at all these quilts. Although some of them are absolutely beautiful, if you are not a quilter, then one quilt starts to look like the next one.

We sat down on an empty bench in the center of the hall, and a group walked by us, and one of the ladies said to another lady, did you see that beautiful quilt with the deer on it? The lady said no, and she said it's down there by where the little old ladies were sitting.

Jeanne wanted to see the deer quilt. We walked everywhere, up and down, looking for either little old ladies, or a deer quilt.

After about three trips through that huge building, I spotted the bench we had been sitting on before, and as we sat down I looked up at this beautiful deer quilt. I showed it to LaJeanne, and she was really ticked off that the lady just didn't say it was right there by us.

I sat there a minute, and my first thought was, no I should not say this. Then, of course, I said, Jeanne, she did. She said it was right there where the little old ladies were sitting. She looks at me, looks at the quilt, and begins to laugh so hard she can't catch her breath. As she takes her cane and gets up for us to leave, the lady who is 20 years older than me, said, I just didn't realize they were talking about you, since we were together.
