All is well and back to our normal kind of crazy at my house. Pawpaw and Sheryl had a discussion while I was at work, and determined that if she ever wants to go cash in any more vouchers, he will drive her and the two invisible people, Cody and Edmund, to Waco Walmart every couple of months and drop them off early in the morning then about 10 PM he and I will pick them up.
In this way, her mother, who is getting older every day, according to him, will not worry about her being out walking such long distances. At first, she tried to convince him to just walk with them, because she lost 10 lbs, and apparently unless it's 100 lbs, pawpaw isn't interested in a 29 mile walk. Since he wasn't taking her up on her weight loss plan, she did consent to letting him drive them.
After I got off work, she came in the living room to show me her feet, which are swollen and have big blisters on them. She explained that she had a hard time getting rides because it was raining so hard and Cody seems to smell like a goat when he gets wet.
After she told me that she saw Melissa and Karen at Walmart, and they had a nice talk, she went back to her room. Randy tells me that he really admires me, because I listen to those weird things she says and it doesn't bother me, I just say that's good, or something calming, and when he listens to them, he always wants to try to tell her, you know that can't be real, those people are not real and you just walked your behind all the way to Waco for something that wasn't real.
Then, he says, you know, you do the same thing with me, no matter what I say to you, you just say that's good, or something else really quiet and you don't ever get upset or argue or anything, there's something wrong with anybody being that calm all the damn time.
I replied, I learned at an early age not to poke big dogs, bears or crazy people.
He sits in his chair for a long time, leaned back with his eyes closed, then he says, which one on that list am I? I think I must be the bear, or maybe the big dog.
could be, you kind of switch out every few days.
Yeah, ok, but I think I switch just between those two, not the the other one.
That's good.
Wait a minute, we are back to the beginning of this talk aren't we?
