The 16 year old granddaughter called and I had been running the carpet cleaner, as I answered the phone, the conversation goes as follows:

Heavan:  why do you sound out of breath, Grannie.
Me:  I was chasing your poppy around the living room.
Heavan: don't hurt poppy, grannie, whatever he did, he's sorry, just ask him.
Me: why do you automatically think I was going to hurt him, what if I was just trying to give him a kiss.
Heavan: Grannie, you are 67 years old,you aren't trying to get a kiss, you are trying to thump him on his head.
me: I do not thump people, actually I was cleaning the carpet.
Heavan: and just daydreaming about thumping his head, because he spilled something and that's why you are having to drag out the carpet cleaner, so don't hurt him

She knows us way too well
