I have always been easily startled

I have always been easily startled. It made my two nearest in age siblings and my children and grandchildren some of the happiest people in the universe, they could just make a sudden jerking movement near me and I would scream, LOUDLY.

It's never been a problem with the sweet husband, he doesn't try to make me scream, never has, not even when we were young. His theory was he spent a great deal of time and effort to keep me in a good mood, because when I am in a good mood I cook a lot, and that was his goal.

Since I've gotten older, the list has grown, now things like a sudden door slam, or something falling off a table, all make me scream. The sweet husband can't hear, so he never knows its happening.

Our living room/den is a rather large room, on the first section is a brick wall with a fireplace, the SH has 3 deer heads hanging over the fireplace. About the center of the room is his recliner facing the back of the room where the television is and across the room is the couch where I sit during the day.

Today as I came back down the hall and walked beside the fireplace going to the couch, ond of the hats he had hung on the deer horns somehow opened and drifted down, hit me on the head, and slid down the front of my shirt.

The SH had no trouble hearing that one.He may never be the same.

In fact, half the living room may never be the same, I am not sure how he did it but when he jumped up he moved the table by his chair so far it hit the couch.

That may have something to do with the fact that when I screamed at the top of my lungs I screamed SNAKE

I have no idea why, I had to know that it was not raining snakes in my house, maybe it was the picture on FB the last couple of days of the guy with the giant rattlesnake.

I don't know but I have a lot of quiet time to think about it,  he isn't talking much since his ribs almost came out of his body with that jump he did.
