The sermon for today is about Karma. Whatever you want to call it, some say what goes around comes around, some say the Universe righting itself, whatever it is, whether it's good or bad, I believe you can use it to change your destiny.
It's up to you whether thats a good change or a bad change. You control that, only you. I think the master of the universe makes it your choice, the opportunity is there, you have a chance to make the outcome different, and nobody is going to hold your hand to do it.
I also believe that too many people make changes that they think will make other people feel better about them. Until YOU feel better about yourself, it hasn't worked, the change went the wrong way.
My mother used to call it making the best of a bad situation. I think it is more than that, a lot of the times it's other peoples situations that give us our choices. My daughter has a mental illness, and it is severe, and the effect it has had on her children has been enormous.
I know that people say mental illness isn't a choice, but the choices she made led to the illness. My daughter used drugs, and even though the most long term drug that she used was pot, apparently, according to the doctors, she used some that had been laced with something else and this is the outcome for her.
The difference between my reaction to it and some other members of her family, made me like myself a whole lot more than I liked them and that has been good for me.
I do not believe that she is possessed by a demon, and she does not embarass me, she is still the same woman, she just has more friends now, even if nobody can see them. My husband may be able to see them, I haven't decided that yet, but I know every time I ask him to actually do anything, he tells me that he will have Cody or Edmond do it and it always gets done.
Your life is what you make it.
