The answer to the pictionary is Butt Plug. Because it was done in Sang's POV, I couldn't work in what it was. I was going to put it at the end and forgot. Sorry.
Part Sixty
Kota's POV
I can hear the others all talking around me, trying to figure out what made Sang go up to Mr B and the Doc, but I think I know. I think I knew it the moment her face changed. All the blood left her face and she swayed slightly. She tried to shrug it off, smiling but it was fake and it was easy to spot.
Silas had noticed and got up to her taking the coffee before she dropped it, but she looked at him without really seeing him, and I could almost hear her thinking.
"Kota?" Gabriel touched my shoulder.
"We screwed up," I told him and they all looked at me in surprise.
"When? How?" North demanded.
"Mr B asked you to erase their records and you did," I said to Victor and he frowned at me. "He didn't tell you the name of the school and you didn't ask."
I saw the moment it registered on their faces. Victor went pale and I shook my head at him.
"Not your fault, Vic, It's not your fault!" I said quietly.
"Motherfucking shit!" Gabriel kicked out at the chair. "So she clicked and knows that we knew and have kept it from her."
"Fuck!" North turned to Silas.
"We have to let Mr B handle this, he'll talk her through it...." I faded out.
"How much will he tell her?" Nathan asked and I shook my head.
"He'll let us know, or the Doc will, we have to follow his lead on this."
"Well, there's nothing being thrown up there, that's good, isn't it?" Luke asked.
There was loud knock on the door and North strode to the door and opened it.
"Problem with your washing machine?" A man stood on the step holding a tool box and looking far too cheerful. North grunted in reply.
"Yes, it hasn't worked since we got here," Silas stepped forward and lead the man in when North just walked away. He was worried about Sang, we were all worried about Sang. One day she would know exactly what we knew about her, how much we had hid from her. When that day came how would she react? Would she find out today? Would it make her walk away from us for keeping it from her? We asked her to trust us, to tell us when she had a problem, but would she still trust us when she realised that it didn't go both ways. That we actively keep so much from her. She knew nothing about the other all dog team with one bird. She knew nothing about how she was an asset, a valuable asset, because she basically didn't exist legally. What would she think then? When she found out that Mr B was cloak and dagger because he didn't want any other team getting a whiff of her. We loved her, but would she doubt that when she realised the extent of it?
I hadn't wanted her in the Academy and I still don't. It was too dangerous and if it wasn't for the Academy we wouldn't need to be so covert over it all. We could have moved for a closed adoption, got her out of that house and be leading a relatively normal life.
If only we'd honest about the Academy, maybe Sang wouldn't be so set on joining. I was fairly certain she wanted to join so she could stay with us, but actually joining it made it harder to make sure she did stay with us. Damn! What a mess!
One, two, three, four... I lowered my head and started to count, I couldn't handle the thought of losing Sang and I could see that happening so easily.
