Part Fifty-One

Sang's POV

When we reached the lodge, Nathan's lips were blue and his teeth were chattering.

"What the fuck?" North blurted out when we came around the corner towards the steps.

They were all playing basket ball, using an area on the lodge side instead of a hoop.

"We asked you to find out about the boats, Nate, not try and be one," Luke called laughing.

"What happened?" North asked laughing at him

"I fell in, what the fuck do you think happened?" Nathan grunted.

"Get in the shower, Nate!" Dr Green stepped forwards. "You're freezing. Warm up in there. Sang, go and get him a change of clothes. Victor get some coffee made up."

I stepped forwards instantly as Dr Green barked orders.

"Go on, get inside Nathan," Dr Green caught his arm and lead him towards the steps.

"I'll tell you now, Vic, there was no point you insisting on bringing her and your swimsuits, it is way too cold to swim now." Nathan told Victor through chattering teeth.

"You brought our swim suits?" Gabriel asked him as Nathan climbed the steps with Dr Green behind him.

"No, he only brought his and hers," Nathan said as he went inside. Dr Green looked back at me.

"Bring his fleecy jacket down as well," he said and I nodded and as they went through to the bathroom, I ran up the stairs and into his room. I was blushing I knew I was. I knew why Victor had brought our swimsuits and not anyone else's, but I couldn't say why.

I was going through his drawers, gathering clothes together when Victor came in behind me.

"Find everything?" he asked.

"I don't know where his fleece is though," I said as I looked around for it. He crossed to his bed and pulled back the covers and found it there.

"He got really cold last night and put it on."

We went back downstairs and I handed the rest of them to Victor who took them through for the Doc.

I moved to sit on the sofa next to Silas.

"How did he fall in?" Silas asked me and I knew the others were listening. Everyone had come in now and were either sitting on the sofas or in the kitchen bit.

"He misjudged the edge and went in backwards," I said, not wanting to tell them exactly why he had been stepping backwards in the first place.

"Need to get his eyes checked, Mr B," Gabriel said and came over with a plate for me. On it were sandwiches and a slice of what looked like fruit cake.

"We started lunch while we waited for you to come back," he said.

"It took you longer than we thought," North said casually, but his face was far from casual.

"We went in, I think Nathan wanted to look at the boats," I said and bit into my sandwich avoiding any of their eyes.

"He wanted to look at some boats," Silas said and looked at North, sniggering.

I tried hard not to blush but it was impossible especially when Gabriel snorted.

"Look at the boats? I've never heard it called that before," he grinned and walked back to the open plan kitchen where Kota was leaning against the island that separated it from the living area. He was grinning as well and I knew full well what they were saying. I concentrated on my sandwiches.
