Part One Hundred

"Would you like to try the shower, Miss Sorenson?" Mr Blackbourne asked as I stepped away from the back door after waving goodbye to the others. Kota and Nathan had left earlier as Kota's mom was on shift Victor had gone back earlier with Silas and Gabriel, North and Luke were the last to leave and had just gone.

I watched as he set the alarm system, the back gates closed and locked now.

"Um. No, not really," I replied honestly and he chuckled.

"How are we ever going to get you used to showering if we never try?" Mr Blackbourne said as he stepped back from the alarm and followed me into the kitchen.

"I'm quite happy with baths," I said sitting up on the bar stools that surrounded the island. "Baths are good."

"Baths are good for relaxing in, for making love in, for soaking out stresses, but not for quickness."

I almost toppled off my stool at his casual mention of "making love" in the bath. He merely moved around the room, making sure that everything was put away and I realised why it looked as if no one loved here. Literally everything had a place and he didn't stop till it was all back behind cupboard doors and the sides were free of anything at all. The only thing that stood on the sides were his knife block and his chopping board rack. He picked up the dishcloth and towels we had used and went into the laundry room.

I had the sudden, dangerous urge to mess with him, he was so perfect in everything. I slid from my stood quietly and taking out the salt and pepper mill I moved them to the back of the counter side and then hopped back up onto my stool before he came back in.

"I've managed up till now," I said hastily as he came in, taking a strand of my hair and inspecting it for split ends in an attempt to look innocent.

"Which is why North has a hip bath stored in his..." he hesitated and frowned before moving across to the salt and pepper mill and putting them away again with a shake of his head. "Yes, in his garage."

"Ah, yes, well..." I tried to keep the innocent look and jumped on the hip bath to save myself. "Well, in future, maybe we can make sure any place we stay has a bath and not just a shower?" I suggested and dared to look up at him. He was watching me but nothing on his face gave away what he was thinking.

"We could do that," he allowed and pushed his glasses up his nose with his finger. "Or we could work at getting you back into the shower. Don't you want to be able to get rid of the memories once and for all?" he asked quietly and I sighed, looking down at my hair.

"Yes, I guess I do," I said. He moved back into the laundry room and I heard him loading up the washing machine and the devil on my shoulder had me jumping down silently again and crossing very quietly to the sink area. I drew a fork out without making a sound and placed it on the draining board. I could still hear him setting the machine so I quickly went back to my stool and just had time to settle my elbows on the island and my chin in my hands as he came back in.

"Shall we go and discuss this in comfort?" he asked and scanned the room one last time before he headed to the door. He stopped mid step and I had to jump down from the stool, keeping my head down to stifle the giggles that wanted to break free.

"What the devil?" he frowned and with an exasperated sigh he went across to the sink and taking the fork he dried it and placed it back into the drawer and then went back out to the laundry room. I wondered if I could get away with it again. I looked around hurriedly and decided to take one of the knives from the block and place it in the corner by the fridge. I bit my lip and turned, letting out a gasp when I realised he was right behind me.
