Okay, so not sure if this come across right. You should be able to work out who Volto is through this one. A few of you were already there. :D I like him too much and that's why it went this way.
I hope you like this one...
Part Eighty-One
Mr Blackbourne's POV
I slammed the car door shut and started the engine. Sean was beside me talking quickly into his phone to Luke. Both he and North were due at the Dinner today but that wasn't going to happen now. I didn't care what they told Uncle, as long as they got to Nathan quickly. Victor had stayed behind in my study, he was working on getting into the road traffic camera system and he was already on the phone to Corey when we left. Ordinarily I was reluctant to draw another team into ours but we needed all the help we could get and while Victor was smart, Corey was a genius. There was nowhere he couldn't get with a computer.
"Gabriel? Get your pencils, paper and be ready for Silas to pick you up, Silas will explain on the way." Sean rang off from Gabriel and let his head fall back against the headrest.
"He had it planned?" he asked me, he was still dead tired, that was clear to see, but there was no way he would have just gone back to bed and I wouldn't even consider asking him too.
"Nathan said it was a set up. Whoever hit them, knew that Kota was behind and deliberately blocked the way stopping them following. He got away, but both Nathan and her father got a good look at him."
"She still has the other phone on her," he said.
"GPS and Wifi are turned off," I said quietly. "The only way we can find her through that, is if she thinks to turn it on, or calls us. At least she still has it, as only her iphone and hairclip were on the road."
"He knew about the hair clip?" he asked in surprised.
"He knows how we work, he would have taken no chances," I said. "He must have realised that she still had her phone, but he doesn't know about the "burner"."
"Jesus Christ," he hissed and stared blankly out of the window. "I can't lose her, Owen, I really can't."
"None of us can, and we won't. We have two leads, the plates Nathan gave us which Victor are running and we have a good description on the man driving it. Corey will get into the traffic system and find her father's car. We will get her back, Sean." Because anything less was unacceptable and I refused to even think that way.
My phone rang and I drew it out of my pocket and handed it to Sean. He hit the speaker phone.
"Blackbourne," I said.
"Owen?" I recognised Axel's voice and repressed a sigh. Corey must have told him what Victor wanted.
"What's going on, Owen?"
"We needed immediate access to the traffic cameras and Corey is the best."
"I know that, I wanted to know what was going on, you're involving my boy in a federal offence," he said and I heard Sean snort. As if that bothered Axel and his team.
I debated it for three seconds.
"Our bird has been taken," I said and heard his intake of breath. "Mr Toma, I can't involve the Academy for reasons I can't divulge yet."
"Is that the bird who pulled the nail from Marc's leg?" he asked quietly.
"Yes, she was taken this morning, a set up traffic accident."
"Ok, what do you need, Owen?"
"There was some information sent to her this morning that we have copies off. Ask Victor to send it to you, I don't recognise any of it, see if you or your team do. We have favours that..."
