Thanks, Ladies, some very valid points. I had awhile to stew over it and I think the reason it was so stiff, (I knew what was coming) was because I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. How far do I take Sang's ability to stand up for herself?

She did say that she was sorry and she would tell them again when she went out and North jumped on her like a ton of bricks. For me it is because the risk to her is very real and they are more conscious of that than she is.

Volto is their last line of defence, because they can't tell her any of the reasons of what would happen if she were to get into trouble and need the police say, or an accident and her details were taken. I didn't want them spouting rape, abduction, muggings etc as that would echo her mother's reasons and they know that. She's very new to them and they don't really know how to handle her yet, not even Mr B.

They're a bit blind to her at the moment, I think. Mr B is also grasping at straws because he's terrified they are going to be losing her. He's kept himself at a distance with women for a long time and then Sang comes along and he's terrified that he'll lose her like he did his mum. I know that doesn't come across in the books yet, if ever; but for me, to make him more real, it has to, he's acting like he's forty at the moment in the books, and that has to break somewhere. He is only 19. My voice of reason will kick his butt soon, which is why he didn't say anything when they were telling her she can't go out. But I don't know if he'll get them to allow her out on her own yet. In the books every time she's gone out on her own something bad has happened to her, so they're kinda paranoid and not without reason. Plus she's already showing signs of Agoraphobia without them (HOK)

They would have to work up slowly, letting her walk home from the Diner, etc. but the first sign of trouble of any it and she'd be right back to square one with them.

The reason why I think Dr Green is more the voice of reason here than Mr B is for two reasons. Dr Green is a doctor, they are taught not to panic, to keep a level head and secondly, he had the most stable upbringing of all of them. I know he was abandoned as a baby, but he was brought up with both mother and father and to all intents and purposes they were not outright abusive. I know Sang speculated she might have been a tiger mom, and maybe she was, but the stability was there that is lacking with everyone else. I could be well wrong, and find that he had a terrible time at home, but for me, for now and this story, he's a pretty balanced individual.

I want her in a position where she can tell them that she's going out and they tell her to be careful, see you when you get back, kind of thing. But I can honestly see North tailing her. In the books he watches her all the time and is not happy unless he knows where she is, and even then he's checking. I can see their POV, she's been abducted, drugged, attempted abduction/possible rape, abused, assaulted by another girl, attacked by Nathan's father (books) so letting her out of their sight is hard for them. It would be for me too. I think where Sang stands at the moment she'll accept it, but as she gets older and more self confident she'll buck against it.

Something which gnawed on me in the books too, where after she was abducted by Volto in Mr B's BMW and she goes back to the others with Nathan, Gabriel and Luke are all over her, hugging her and then she tells them what happened that day with Dr Green, her and Silas being crashed into by Volto and then Nathan tells them the rest about her being taken by Volto and driven off and there is no reaction. None, Gabriel's first comment is more shock at Dr Green lying about her being a doctor and then getting worked up about her hair!!! Unless the hair thing was a panic cover. Luke doesn't say anything at all, and I'm like.... what?

Ah, I'm still not happy with the whole thing, but I'll leave it for now. Sorry this was a long winded whine. :)

Timeline: Gabriel's birthday is in the middle of the week, but they'll celebrate it on Sunday coming. :) I probably have that all wrong with Homecoming and half term, sorry about that. I'm British, nuff said, I'm actually quite proud with my liberal use of the word Mom, instead of mum. If I make any other horrendous errors, please let me know. Ps. I won't have Sang ask Kota for a rubber though. ;)
