A/N: Nothing is resolved yet and we haven't got to Dr Roberts either. I wanted to make that a completely fresh chapter as I have things I need to check out first before I write it. It's a bit slow and boring. Sorry.
Sang's POV
Going back to Sunnyvale was a relief. Being discharged from the hospital was an easy process and Mr Blackbourne and Sean handled the whole thing. I had thought Dr Roberts might come in and that had played on my mind, but to my relief he hadn't. There had been no sight of him as they had taken me out of the front entrance and into Mr Blackbourne's BMW.
I was annoyed with myself that just the simple act of getting dressed, being wheeled to the main entrance, making the short distance to the car and then again into the house had left me feeling as if I'd run a marathon. I had tried hard to not show my exhaustion, but I kept forgetting Sean was a doctor and could see it easily, and was expecting it apparently; because the moment he caught me yawning I was order to take a nap in the bedroom. But now I was back home with them, I didn't want to leave them and I compromised with him and cuddled up on Victor's lap and went to sleep there.
When I woke they were all still sitting around the family room, talking quietly and I knew from my semi -awake status that they were already discussing the problems we now faced.
I stretched in Victor's arms, making him hold me tighter. I reached up and kissed his jawline and then slid from his arms to stand up.
"What do you want?" North demanded. "We can get it for you, Sang baby."
"I need the bathroom, North, but thank you," I told him and moved towards the door. Gabriel was there already, pulling it open for me. I smiled at him and made my way to the bathroom, aware that he was shadowing me all the way. I turned in the doorway and looked at him, smiling.
"Meanie."
He came forward immediately and I lifted my hands and cupped his face.
"I love you, Meanie, but I'm ok to go to the bathroom on my own," I whispered and before he could move I laid my lips on his and kissed him. I tried to deepen the kiss but he moved his lips across my cheeks and caught me to him in a hug that I had missed.
"I know," he whispered. "Just humour us for a bit, yes?" he murmured by my ear and I nodded my head.
"But I won't break if you kiss me, Gabriel," I murmured. "I might break if you don't."
"I don't want to hurt you..."
"You won't." I lifted back from him slightly. "I miss you."
"Oh, Jesus Christ. Trouble, I missed you too." His breath blew over my face as he spoke on an exhale.
His lips landed on mine and I sank into him as he kissed me properly. I could almost taste his desperation and anxiety. I wound my arms around his neck, aware of the ache in my chest, but I wouldn't stop now for the world. The need to breathe broke us apart and his face went into my neck as he hugged me tightly.
"You were so still and you wouldn't wake up." His voice held his fear. I ran my fingers through his hair over and over.
"I'm fine, it's over," I whispered. "I love you, Gabriel Coleman, with everything I am." He rocked me gently from side to side as I clung to him, breathing in his scent. I needed this, he needed this.
---------------------------------------------
"Right, Sang, if it gets too much or you've had enough, speak up," Mr Blackbourne said and I nodded at him, letting him know I would.
"We're all caught up to date with what's happening. Dr Roberts has called me and told me he's coming over tomorrow morning to discuss things with us."
