HI everyone. I'm not sure that I've got this explained right, but there will be more talking in the next part and I think it might become clearer why Sang isn't too upset.
I hope you are ok with this. We are now completely departing from the books. As if we hadn't already done so. Sheesh!
Part Seventy-Four
Sang's POV
Hands took me from Mr Blackbourne and he let me go. I was turned and then I was in Kota's arms.
He said nothing, just buried his head in my neck and held me.
"What the fuck!" I heard North booming from the other room and then it was as if they were all trying to shout at once. The noise was horrendous as they all shouted over each other, demanding, threatening, questioning. I wanted to stay in Kota's arms, to keep my senses filled with him, to stave off what I knew was coming next.
I heard Mr Blackbourne shouting at them just as loudly and there was a bang on the table and he roared for silence.
Kota kissed the skin under my ear and then he was stepping back from me and taking my hand. I turned and saw Dr Green leaning against the wall outside the dining room, his head was down slightly and he had his fingers pressed into the bridge of his nose.
Kota slid his hand onto my lower back and pushed me towards Dr Green. He looked up as I moved and then he was standing straight, his hands by his sides.
"Once you've seen something you can never un-see it," he said quietly and I knew then Mr Blackbourne had either shown him the pictures or told him.
I licked my dry lips and nodded my head. He was right, if I shut my eyes I could still see the state Bennett was in.
"ENOUGH!" Mr Blackbourne's voice roared again from the dining room and I looked towards the door in apprehension.
"Come on," Dr Green came towards me and slid his hand onto the back of my neck and bent his head to rest his forehead against mine.
"I can let you have a sleeping pill tonight," he whispered and I blinked at him. He thought that I would either have trouble sleeping because of the pictures or I would have nightmares. I was still a little shell-shocked by it all.
"Sean, Kota? Bring Miss Sorenson in will you?" Mr Blackbourne's voice rang out and Dr Green stood back from me.
He slid his hand from my neck to my other hand and they lead me back into the living room.
There was knock at the door and then someone rang the bell as well. I jumped, turning wide eyes towards the door.
Kota shared a look with Dr Green and then Dr Green was letting go of my hand. Everyone came out from the dining room and Luke and Gabriel immediately flanked me taking me from Kota. North and Silas moved towards the front door with Mr Blackbourne, Nathan, Kota, Victor and Dr Green formed a line behind them and I realised they were in a fight formation. They were expecting trouble when they opened that door. I shuddered, my whole body starting to shake.
Mr Blackbourne started to fiddle with his phone and I realised he was checking the security cameras he had instilled over his front door.
"There's no one there," Mr Blackbourne said and reaching forward he opened the door, North and Silas still right beside him.
Mr Blackbourne bent over and picked something up. North and Silas moved past him and went out into the street, Kota and Nathan followed them, but Dr Green and Victor stayed behind. Mr Blackbourne shut the door with them still outside and then turned. He held a manilla envelope, A4 in size. He looked at Dr Green and then he was opening the folder. He stopped and reached into his pocket and drew out my phone and I realised someone had texted me again. Well, Volto, had texted me again. If this was him.
