Part 122
Luke's POV
The similarity to Uncle was un-nerving. The same wiry build, although this man lacked the white pointed goatee, and his eyes, although just as dark as Uncle's, held none of the warmth his did. I noticed the whites of his eyes were yellow, the skin under the darker tan was also a yellowish colour. His stomach was distended slightly and I don't think it was fat. I hated that he looked like Uncle. I hated him and although I could see he was jaundiced, I felt no pity for him.
"Leave. Now." My tone was even and firm.
"Luke! Get back!" North bellowed from behind me, I felt North grip my shoulder to pull me back, no doubt to shove me behind him. But out of the two of us, North would get hurt the most here and I wasn't having that. I resisted North, moving to block the entrance to the trailer.
"Lucian?" he asked, blinking as he stared up at me. "All grown up."
"No thanks to you fucker, now fuck off!" Nathan shoved his way underneath beside me in the doorway. I could hear Silas holding North back, whispering to him in Greek. I suddenly felt Nathan being tugged back and then North was beside me. I could practically feel his anger rolling off him.
"Boys, I know there is nothing I can possibly say that will ever redeem myself. North..." He looked up at North, tears shining in his eyes and I felt sick to my stomach.
"You don't listen, do you?" I shouted and jumping down the steps I shoved him hard in the middle of his chest. He stumbled backwards several steps, making no move to defend himself. But I wasn't going to hit him.
"Keep away from him! Don't come looking for him again," I snarled at him. North moved towards him, but I put my hand on his arm.
"Let's get going. We need to get to school for..." I let it hang and I knew North would know that I meant Sang.
North broke out in a rapid string of Greek and then he turned his back on him and walked towards the car and got into the driver's seat. I felt Nathan touch my back and then Nathan moved up beside me as Silas dragged the remainder of our bags towards the Jeep.
"I am sorry; for what it's worth, I am sorry," Tony mumbled.
"It's worth nothing, and you're going to go to your grave knowing that North will never forgive you." I didn't bother keeping the contempt from my voice.
"And you?" he looked at me, taking his eyes from the Jeep.
"Me? You never meant anything to me to start with," I tried to keep my voice even, but I could hear the anger in my voice. "The only reason you even register on my radar is because of what you did to North. And because of that, I hope you die in as much pain as you inflicted on North."
"Theé mou, ti ékana," He lowered his head and turning he walked to the house. The door suddenly opened and Uncle came barrelling out.
"Antony! I told you! Stay away from them!" he shouted at him. He was furious I could see it in his face, but he made no move to towards Tony. He came straight across to me.
"Are you ok? Is North ok?" he demanded and looked at the Jeep.
"I'm fine," I told him and watched as he nodded once and then made his way over to North's side. The window slid down and I walked over, glad of Nathan still at my side.
"North? Are you ok?" Uncle questioned him. I saw North nod curtly but he didn't look at him.
"Stupid ass, I told him to stay away from you if he saw you. Why are you here? Are you coming back? I will make him promise to leave you alone."
