Part 103
Sang's POV
"No, you don't understand!" Luke tried to get between North and his Uncle but Uncle was glaring at North.
"I've seen you! I've seen the way you watch her when you think no one is looking!" Uncle snarled, his finger jabbing at North but not making contact.
"I've seen the touches, the casual brushes of hands! You've liked her from the moment you saw her."
"It's not what you think, Uncle," Luke said. "North was upset last night, we both stayed with him."
"Oh no, Luke, no! I've seen comfort and then I've seen them! She was wrapped around him, Luke, his hand was somewhere no friend's hand should be!"
"She might have thought it was me!" Luke floundered but it was obvious he was clutching at straws.
"Luke, we can't..." North caught hold of Luke's shoulder, the movement made Uncle take his eyes of North and onto me. I took a step back at the look of sheer anger in his face.
"You! You're playing them off each other, aren't you?" he said and started towards me. North and Luke moved quickly, blocking his way to me and lifting their hands up trying to placate him.
"You've been mucking around Luke's back, haven't you? You've made a fool of him!" he roared at me, locking eyes with me over Luke's shoulder. "Well you can forget showing your face at the Diner again! And you're not welcome here! And you...." He turned on North again. "You should be ashamed of yourself."
"Uncle, stop!" Luke suddenly yelled. "It's not what you think, honestly! She loves me, she does, I know she does."
"Luke, I know you were asleep, but he wasn't! He knew where his hand was! She was lying over his chest and his hand was on her butt, Luke!"
"I know," Luke nodded and I saw their Uncle stop in his tracks as he stared at him.
"What?"
"I know how they are, she loves us both, Uncle. It's not what you think, just believe me when I say that I know what's happening."
"You mean..." he stopped, looking between them and I rubbed my hands down my face. This was a complete and utter mess.
"We share her, Uncle," Luke said and I bit my lip hard, my fingers at my throat as I watched the three of them. This was not good.
"You... what?" Uncle stared at them as if they'd sprouted two heads.
"I love her too," North said and his voice was husky as he spoke. Luke moved towards North and put his hand on North's shoulder.
"We both love her, and we're lucky enough that she loves both of us back. We couldn't choose, I couldn't choose, this way I don't have to."
"I..." Uncle blinked rapidly as he processed their words.
"You mean you both... share her?" Uncle's surprise turned to shocked disgust. "You told me she loved you, that you loved her, that you were going to be spending the rest of your life with her."
"Yes, that's right, I am," Luke said. "But so is North."
"How long?" Uncle asked and his face was tight with anger now.
"From the start," Luke said quietly.
"Nothing good can come from this," Uncle shook his head at them. "Nothing good will come from this, mark my words. Someone is going to get hurt and badly."
"We have it all worked out," North said but Uncle looked past him to me again.
"And you... you're ok with this? You think you can have them both this way and everything will be ok?"
