Sang's POV
I had just finished my English homework when the door slammed and Marie came stomping down the hallway with Gabriel and Luke behind her. I got up and went to the door to see her stop at the foot of the stairs and look at me.
"My room was ok?" she asked and I saw her eyes move from me to above my head, but the scent of spring soap told me who she was looking at now.
"It was untouched and smoke free," he said formally. "If you wish to re-decorate, I can have it arranged."
"No." She shook her head and looked away. "I'll be gone soon enough." She went up the stairs two at a time and I heard her door slam shut. I felt him place his hand on my hip and I looked to where Gabriel and Luke were standing looking at me.
"Was she ok?" I asked them and Luke shrugged.
"I think so, she hasn't actually said anything past thanking Danielle's mom for letting her stay."
"Finish your homework," Mr Blackbourne whispered into my ear "and we can play some games."
I bit my lip and looked sideways up at him.
"Should we ask her if she wants to join in?" I asked and Luke snorted.
"Depends on what you want to play, Trouble," Gabriel said with a smirk. "I'm not playing strip poker with her around."
I looked back at him and rolled my eyes.
"Who said anything about strip poker?" Mr Blackbourne inquired with a shake of his head. "There are other games we can play, Mr Coleman."
""Yeah, sure, truth or dirty dare, strip twister, strip spin the bottle," he said with a chuckle. "I'm not fussy what."
"I was thinking more of proper pictionary, or Scattergories, Scrabble if we team up," I said with a smile. "Marie is upstairs, I don't think it would be a good idea to get naked when she's around. At least not in the family room, anyway."
"Homework has to be finished first," Kota called from the living room. "Come on, or it'll be too late," he shouted.
"What is he going to do when we leave that school?" Luke asked Mr Blackbourne behind me. "I swear he's enjoying all this homework."
"I think he may have found his calling," Gabriel said. "Physics teacher."
I tried to imagine Kota as a teacher and realised that it actually wasn't that hard to do. He seemed to enjoy learning and he had an ability to explain things easily.
"Maybe," Mr Blackbourne, "If that's what he wants to do, we'll back him."
"What do you want to do, Trouble?" Gabriel asked me as we went back into the family room.
"I have no idea," I sighed.
"Plenty of time to figure that out," Mr Blackbourne said as I sat back down on the sofa and picked up my books again.
"Time for what?" asked Sean from where he was going over Victor's completed homework.
"To decide what Sang wants to do when she finishes the end of the year here," Luke spoke up and plopped down next to North on the floor and sat Indian style.
"Become my full time assistant," Sean said, looking at me with a grin. "The patients all love you."
"I don't have the stomach for it," I replied.
"That's rubbish," Sean laughed. "I watched you yank that nail from Marc's leg and you didn't bat an eyelid."
"Yeah, but Alice's foot made me feel really bad," I said. "It made me feel queasy."
