I'm considering making a second part to that fantasy Kiri chapter where he's your older brother

btw, this one also takes place in the fantasy AU
(and I might make a part two to this, but that's a might)

----------- ☆~°+*¤ | I Do | ¤*+°~☆ ------------

The music played as the two of you danced together.

You couldn't see the man's face, it was covered with a mask, but you could hear his voice.

And for someone you'll most likely never see again... you liked him.

"You seem like someone I can trust, so do you mind if I tell you something?" He asked you.

"Of course not." You responded. "I can keep a secret!"

"Ok then..."

He leaned in close, and then whispered to you...

"I'm going to poison the king tonight."

You stopped in your tracks for a moment.

"Keep dancing madam, we'll look suspicious if you don't."

You nervously kept dancing with the man, not knowing what else to do. Sure, you could tell one of the guards, but you feel like that would get you killed.

"You're... you're going to kill king Enji...?" You asked, whispering.

"Yes."

"B-but... why?"

"It's simple, really." He explained. "None of the king's children want the throne, I just want to see this country fall into chaos and despair~"

"That's the only reason...?"

"Well, there is another reason, but... that would blow my cover. Anyways, later into the night, remember not to drink the wine, as it's been poisoned." The man told you. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I must take my leave."

You didn't find out who that man was, but later into the night, as promised...

The king died.
(As well as a few other people who drank the wine but who cares about them)

The next day, they started interviewing suspects.

And, for some reason, you were among the list of suspects.

When you walked into the castle, you saw the king's youngest son, Shouto, sitting on the throne.

I guess that man from last night didn't get the 'chaos and despair' he wanted...

After a short interview, Shouto began talking.

"That's it, I've made my decision." He pointed at you, with an expressionless face. "This harlot killed my father, off with her head."

"What-?"

He smirked, and waved goodbye to you as he had his guards drag you away.

Well, this sucks.

You didn't exactly feel like dying today, and yet... here you are, sitting in a small cell awaiting your own execution.

Shouto walked in, and smiled when he saw you.

"L-listen, I didn't kill your father!" You told him.

"Oh, I know." He told you. "By the way, I didn't get your name last night. What is it?"

Then, you realized.

The man from last night was the same man standing before you, the king's youngest son.

"You killed your own father." You said to yourself. "W-why blame me, of all people?" You asked.

"Well, you seemed like an easy person to pin the blame on so I did." Shouto explained. "Plus, it's probably be bad if people found out that the heir to the throne was actually the man who assassinated the king, wouldn't it~?"

"I-I thought it was that the eldest son is supposed to take the throne?" You stated, confused.

"Well, that'd be hard to do, as my eldest brother is presumed dead." He smirked. "And my other older brother absolutely refused to take the throne, and my older sister cannot take the throne, so that leaves me."

"But why blame me?" You asked again.

"Like I said before, you seemed like someone who'd be easy to pin the blame on. Also, I asked your name, answer me."

"It's (Y/N) (L/N)." You told him.

"Right. Well, (Y/N), I came here to make a preposition." He explained, kneeling down so he was on eye-level with you. "If you agree to marry me, I'll call off the execution."

So now, you have a choice.

Either get married... or be killed for something you didn't even do.

"You should consider yourself lucky, miss (L/N)." The maid helping with the fitting told you. "I can think of at least a million people who'd love to be in your place right now!"

"Haha..." you weakly laughed. "Yeah, I guess you're right..."

"I bet you two will have lovely children."

"Uh, we... we're... not going to have children, Aimi." You informed the maid. She laughed sweetly.

"That's exactly what queen Rei said before her wedding."

Maybe this was a mistake...

Maybe it would've been better if you died that day.

Well, you can't change the past.

Now, you should be focusing on today.

Today.

Your wedding.
