Where you live, it's common knowledge that on nights with a full moon, werewolves hunt in the forest.
On nights without a full moon... you actually go into the forest. You really like the night, despite how dangerous it is. You also found it kinda fun to feel just a bit scared...
Tonight was very cloudy.
You didn't really want to die, so you were a bit hesitant to go into the forest tonight.
But you were absolutely sure that there wasn't a full moon!
Well, "absolutely sure" is a bit of a stretch, but you were mostly sure, and mostly sure was enough for you.
As you walked through the forest, you started feeling like you made the wrong choice.
You liked fear, but... this was almost too much. This fear you were feeling wasn't the good kind of fear that you enjoyed, no this was...
You were fearing for your life.
This... this was a bad idea, you should leave.
When you heard a wolf howl somewhere in the deep woods in front of you, you knew what was going to happen...
The moment it realized where you were, you heard it start running in your direction.
You turned the other way, and started running. You knew it was useless, but you wanted to at least try to escape with your life.
You heard it just getting closer and closer, until eventually... it caught up to you.
Werewolves are much faster than humans, so you should've expected this.
'I don't want to be eaten, but I guess I can't do anything now, can I...?'
It held you on the ground, and you felt its drool dripping down onto the back of your neck. Its breath was very was very warm, and you could feel its claws digging into your skin.
You took a deep breath, and then screamed for help as loud as you could.
The werewolf let go of you for just a second, before grabbing the back of your head, and slamming your face into the ground.
...
At least you won't be conscious when it eats you...
You slowly opened your eyes-
Wait, you aren't dead????
