Spencers POV

I left Tony's office to find Melina and Yelena, which wasn't difficult as they were talking in the common room.

"Ladies," I interrupted them. "Are you ready?"

"Hell yes!" Yelena sprang to her feet.

Melina laughed but also stood to join us. "Where to first?"

"Well Tony gave me this whole list. Might as well start at the top. Which says it's a custom place. Might be perfect," I say shrugging my shoulders.

"Works for me," Yelena grabs my arm, then Melina.

"And we're off!" I say dramatically as I teleport us to the location of the first jewelry store.

Well, okay, on a side street next to it.

When we walk in, I can immediately tell why this place is on the top of Tony's list.

"Damn," Yelena voices my thoughts.

"Yes," I agree.

"Hi, welcome to Lorenzos. I'm Maia, how may I help you today?" A young blonde lady introduces herself as she approaches us.

"Hi, I'm Spencer," I shake her hand. Then Melina and Yelena introduce themselves.

"Ah, yes. I got a call from Tony Stark, he said to give you the star treatment."

I am too awkward to acknowledge that so instead I say, "I am looking for an engagement ring for my amazing girlfriend." I already have the biggest grin on my face just talking about it.

"Ah, wonderful. You've come to the right place. And is this the lucky girlfriend?" She says looking at Yelena.

We both laugh before I'm able to say, "no. She's a friend who also happens to be the sister to my girlfriend. Melina is her mom."

"You brought back up, wise."

"Well, it's my first and hopefully only proposal. Wanted to play it smart," I banter.

"Then can I interest you in a custom design? Sounds like she's special and you want a ring to match."

"That sounds great! But I have absolutely no idea where to even start," I joke. But I'm actually serious.

She laughs, placing her hand on my upper arm. It's weird but I let it slide.

"Lucky you, we have people to help with that."

"I will definitely be needing their assistance."

"Well, it's my lucky day then. I can help you over here," she winks and then walks over to a table.

I look over to Yelena and she's drilling holes into the back of Maia's head with her glare. Melina also looks unimpressed.

I let out a long breath, hoping this awkwardness goes with it.

I follow Maia to the table and take a seat, the other two reluctantly doing the same.

"So, you said you have no idea where to begin?" Maia checks.

"Not really. Besides the fact that I know it needs to be in a circle, roughly the size of a nickel?"

She laughs again. "Do you know her ring size?"

"Yes. It's.." I pull out my phone, trying to find where I wrote it down. How'd I get her ring size? I have ways. "Ah, a size 6."

"Okay, so we have that to start with. Now, style wise, would you like to look at some base models? We can find things you like and don't like and start designing the perfect ring from there?"
