Chapter One Hundred Seventy One

Spencers POV

So.. it's been about a month since Nat and I had our little talk, which boosted our spirits about the adoption.

It was a really good night, one of my favorites.

And I can proudly say that I can braid hair now. Like a champion. Morgan was even impressed.

So it's been a whole other month that we didn't hear from the adoption agency. Buttttt it's been a good month. And we both know we'll have a call from them when the timing is right.

It's not easy to wait and not know.. as you know I like to be a little prepared, but we are ready. We're as prepared as we can be with everything; room is set up with a rocking chair and toys. A crib is set up in our room. (Yeah, it's been a pain in the ass, but we got use to it.) So yeah, we just need a phone call.

      It's been long and difficult, but we have each other the whole way.

Currently I'm cleaning up at the shop getting ready to close it up so I can head home to Nat.

Well, I'll probably beat her home as she just texted me that she's running a little late, something about Fury and paperwork. Which is fine, that just means I will have time to cook her dinner.

Oh? Right. Yes, the tattoo shop has been doing well. Really well, actually. My reputation has spread far and wide and twice as fast. Like I said, people told their friends who told their friends and they all made appointments, which have been pouring in.

It's a good way to stay busy and do something I love. Each day it's something different and I get to meet new people. And yes I get paid, but I'm doing some good in the world, spreading some happiness one tattoo at a time. Feels good.

You are just too thoughtful, really. But don't worry your pretty little head. We've gone to visit Alexei and Melina a few times. And yes, they know we're waiting to hear from the adoption agency.

Of course, Yelena knows too.

We told them all together simply by showing them some pictures of that baby room I told you about. They were all beyond excited.

      Yelena can not wait to be an aunt. She's already gone shopping for them. Already planning how often she'll be over to visit. How she'll teach them to be a mini spy. It's really adorable.

Alexei and Melina are also thrilled to be grandparents. Shocking, I know. They already bought toys for their house and made sure we promised we would visit and they could visit us.

It's been nice to have someone else to share in the excitement, even more so with them. We're expanding the family and we're all excited for it.

But no, nobody else knows. Especially since it's taking awhile..

We figure once we get a call, we'll let everyone know. But for now, it's just family.

And Tony, of course. Oh, and Fury. But we kind of had to and that's pretty much the same thing as family.

Okay! So they're all like family. Geez. Give a girl a break.

They still can't know yet.

      You're distracting me now.

I teleport to the house, landing in our room so I can change and get ready to cook some dinner.

I make my way to the kitchen, checking to make sure we had the right ingredients before starting up one of my cooking playlist and diving right into making dinner.
