Spencer POVNat and I have been in Russia together for about two weeks now. The dynamic between us and Yelena is obviously a little different, but for the most part Nat is forced to deal with mine and Yelena's chaos.
She must enjoy it to some degree because she's still here. Plus, she's had to deal with it before.
Nat pretty much spends most of her time with me if I'm not at work. And most of the time she stops by the shop for awhile.
Sounds a little suffocating?
Not really, honestly. It's nice having her around. And it's not in an overbearing way. She isn't two inches from my grasp at all times, but I know she's near.
She mostly wants to make sure I'm alive and that the bullet wound isn't causing any issues. She worries. So even though I assure her I'm fine, she sometimes wants physical proof.
You can take that how you want.
I am fine. It's healed quite nicely, Melina has checked on it. No infections. It'll be a scar to add to the collection. Otherwise, I'm perfectly healthy.
I don't blame her for worrying, though. Or for wanting to stay. The last two times we've left the other, well.. I've found myself on the brink of dying. She doesn't like it, I don't like it. No one likes it.
Not that we think being together makes us instantly safe, but at least we're close to each other. If, for some crazy reason, I were to get hurt again, she would be here and not on the other side of the world.
She is doing her best to make sure there's no chance of that.
When she isn't worrying about me, she finds other ways to stay busy.
She'll be helping her mom or taking her turn to cause trouble with Yelena, which usually involves them and a bottle of vodka. Okay, a couple bottles of vodka.
No, I don't mind. It's usually very interesting. And nice not being the drunk one every once in a while.
It's interesting to see how it would be if she moved here instead of us all going to back to the states.
Though I think it works well, it wouldn't work long term. For the most part I think Nat is hanging out with me because she is bored out of her mind.
I get it.
Oh, yeah. No. We haven't really heard anything about the bullet that was taken out of me.
They had a few things they were looking into and I think they tried to tell me some of the things they thought it might be.. but I honestly was only half paying attention.
Not trying to be rude. Just.. don't need all the details. I'll wait for the bigger answers, if there are any.
On the tattoo front, I've decided that I'll take a few days a month to come back here to do some appointments. I've talked to most of my regulars and, though they were a little disappointed, they understood. Some already booking tattoos. I've got the first few months I'm away already booked up.
Of course, I may find myself coming back every once in awhile to do some walk ins or take some random appointments. Or if I want one myself.
No, these sisters still have not committed to their tattoo yet. I told them they should get them before we leave. They agreed, but they're running out of time.
