                                   Spencers POV

"Okay. So once I open this thing, what do you want me to try to do?" I speak into the mouth piece Tony gave me once we made it to the training room. They're going to be far enough away where they should be safe, but near enough if I needed them.

I don't blame them. It's pretty intense. And if people aren't normally suppose to hold one without being torn to shreds.. well I wouldn't be here either.

I know I did initially grab it without knowing, but that's besides the point.

"Uh, I don't know. Try to make another illusion or something."

"So you do have visual of the room?" I ask looking around.

"Yeah, I have cameras everywhere," he tells me.

I freeze at this notion, knowing he would have caught us..

"I'm messing with you Spencer. We have cameras all over, but not everywhere. No, I won't tell you where. But they're in here so we can look back at our training and analyze what we could fix and blah blah blah.."

      "Okay Dracula," I mumble.

"What was that? I didn't quite hear you."

"Nothing! Just bracing myself for whatever pain I'm about to feel by grabbing this thing," I try to cover up.

"It'll be alright. You'll be okay."

"Yeah, except no one could exactly jump in to save me." I'd be saving myself, once again. Even surrounded by superheroes..

"You'll be fine. Otherwise Nat will kill me," Tony admits.

He's not wrong, and the thought brings a chuckle out of me. A take a deep breath and release the latch like Thor told me how.

Nothing happens. Okay, so far so good. But this is usually the painful part for me.

I decide to just go for it without thinking too much more on it, grabbing the stone and bracing for the pain.

Except there is none. Maybe I didn't actually grab the stone? I open my eyes, which I must have closed out of instinct when I thought pain was about to course through me.

Sure enough, the stone is sitting in my hand. Huh. You know you'd think it was just a normal small rock if you didn't know any better.

"Is that normal?" Bruce's voice comes through the comms.

"For it not to hurt like a bitch when I grab it? No. No it is not."

"Okay then," he answers.

"So I should just try to make an illusion or something?"

"Yeah. Maybe start small. Don't try to push you or the stone too far. We don't want Nat to kill us. And I guess we would miss you too," Tony teases.

"Ha. Ha. Ha. I hope she's listening in somewhere so she knows you said that."

There's no response. I guess they didn't think that my girlfriend might want to know what's happening while I mess around with an infinity stone.

I hear one of them clear their throat. "Uh, yeah. Let's just start."

I bet she is listening in. Ha. That's my girl.

Okay so what could I make as an illusion? The forest was out of necessity and taking it down was also out of necessity.

"What do you think, little guy?" I whisper to the rock, but apparently they heard me.
