Spencer's POV
The past week flew by. I had several tattoo appointments a day and getting into the work as I did made the hours seem like minutes.
I had just finished covering up the last guys tattoo, walking him to the door.
"Take good care of that my man, and thanks for choosing The Guardian for your tattoo needs" I say shaking the guys' hand.
"No, thank you. This is now my favorite tattoo by far." He then places some money in my hand, a tip. "I will be back here again for sure." Since the guy has tattoos over most of his visible body, I take this as a compliment and a challenge. I bit of pride rises with his flattery. It's good to know my hard work has paid off.
"Thank you! I really appreciate that. Give me a call when you're looking for your next piece, we'll set you up."
"Looking forward to it!" And with that he walks out the door and my day of work is done. I turn so I can go pick up my stuff, but stop short when a voice calls out to me.
"Do you have time for one more?"
Ugh, I was looking forward to binging some Netflix tonight but it's hard to say no. I could at least see what they want.
I turn around to face the new customer. I have to stop myself from letting my mouth drop. She is gorgeous. The blonde hair curled perfectly. Her smile; dazzling. Speak idiot!
"Uh yeah, I can always make room for a consult. What were you thinking about getting?" I try to keep my voice steady, smooth. It kinda works.
Her smile gets bigger. "I actually was thinking of getting a spider."
"Oh?" I'm intrigued.
"Yeah, a black widow to be exact. On my right hip."
"That's an interesting choice. Do you have a picture or did you want me to design something?" My confidence is building as the conversation flows.
"Well I thought I knew what I wanted, but now that I'm here, I think I need an original design."
"Ah, you're in luck. I just so happen to have some free time. You see, I like to talk to my client, get to really know them before I design a tattoo for them. Make sure the tattoo will really fit their vibe." This is not a line, I really do like to get to know my client a bit first. I'd just like to know her a bit more..
"Is that so? Well, if it's to help with the tattoo design, I guess we have no choice but to get a drink sometime."
"If we want to do it properly, it'll be at least two drinks." I think we're on the same page here. Please be on the same page.
"I was hoping you'd say something like that."
"So I'm already good at knowing what you want?" I smirk at this. It's been awhile so let me have this.
She smirks right back. "I guess you do. Which should pay off. Ya know, with the tattoo."
"Right, the tattoo. What else would we be talking about?" We've been getting closer as we talked and we're just about close enough to feel each others breath. The tension is THICK.
"Spencer, have you seen.."
Shit. I forgot Alexei was still here. Why did he stop mid sentence though? I pull my attention from the blonde to look at him in question. He answers me before I get a chance to ask.
