Spencers POVIt was a process trying to make sure we had everything planned out and all of the safety measures we could possibly think of in order to destroy these stones.
They had a special saftey feature put in FRIDAY called the 'barn door protocol' which basically secured the building and won't let anything explode outwards.
Just in case.
Everyone else is going to be standing on the outside of this. I had a lot of people fight me on this saying they'd be fine or they could block themselves. Even Wanda tried to say she could block some people from the blast, if there is one.
But I argued that, if I'm doing this to save them all and so no one else has to, there's no way I'm risking them getting hit form a blast.
Also, it's not like anyone could rush over and stop anything from happening to me. It's kind of an all in deal.
I wasn't going to budge. So they gave in to that demand.
Just in case.
But Tony insisted that they would at least be ready right outside. Medics would be waiting the next floor down, ready for anything.
Just in case.
I even wrote out a letter for Nat to read after.
Just in case.
Don't give me that look. What am I suppose to do? Of course I'm going to fight like anything for Nat, always.
But.. no one has ever tried to destroy the stones before. And maybe I've held one before but.. this is different.
So here I am. Standing in the middle of this room with armored walls and windows. No sunlight coming in. Silence.
Just me and the stones.
Oh, Thor had one of his space buddies make some kind of glove type thing that can hold all of the stones.
Yup.
I feel like I understand Micheal Jackson now.
I'm standing here with this glove thing on just staring at the infinity stones. I have to put them in one by one.
I'm hoping I can just teleport them. But it didn't really work with the power stone before. So, I may have to do this manually.
I wonder if there's a certain order I should put them in? Maybe the order of the rainbow? Seems fitting, right?
Yes, I'm stalling.
And just. Standing here.
I take a deep breath. I guess I should start with the one I know I can handle, right? Yeah. That's a solid plan.
"You okay in there Spencer?" Tony's voice speaks through. Of course he hooked some kind of speaker system in here.
"Uh, yeah. Just.. I'm getting there," I say, not sure how else to respond.
"Okay. If you need anything.. just speak up. We'll hear you," Tony informs me.
Great. Okay.
Just speak up and they'll save me.
Whatever. Shake it off.
Stalling isn't going to do anything but make my nerves worse. My thoughts will just keep wandering.
