                                      Nats POV

I am taking big, deep breaths. In through my nose. Out through my mouth. My eyes are closed. My heart rate even. I'm okay.

"Nat?"

My eyes shoot open and reality is crashing back into place.

My head turns until my eyes are able to find the source of the voice.

"Nat? What are you doing? Are you ready?" Melina asks as she walks closer.

"Um, yeah. I just needed a few minutes. It's all.. a lot."

Melina offers me a smile. "Hey, it's all going to go off without a hitch. Okay?"

I nod my head. That's not really the problem.

She notices.

"Nat? What is it?"

"I just.. this is huge. Like. We're committing to each other for our whole lives."

"Yeah.." she speaks softly. "Are you.. are you having second thoughts?"

The idea of that seems so out of left field that I almost forget to respond. "What? No. No. Absolutely not. I love Spencer with everything I have. I want this more than anything in the world."

She gives me a questioning look.

I lower my head before I confess anything.

"Spencer.. is the best thing that has ever happened to me. And with my track record.. what I've done. Who I was.. it just all seems too good to be true. Ya know?" I finally look over to her.

But I can't stop the vomiting of words from spewing out, "we've had so many close calls in so many things, but we've made it out okay. And I am so insanely happy. Everything seems to be falling in place. I have the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. I feel so lucky. So lucky that.. it seems like it could all just fall apart."

"Oh, Nat.." she moves to sit next to me, takes my hand in hers, wipes the tears I didn't know were falling. "I don't think there's anything in this world that could take you away from each other. The love you both have is so incredible. There's nothing on this planet or any of the other crazy ass planets out there that could stop it. You are your happy ending. And middle.

"I have known Spencer for a long time and I never really saw her with anyone. She's always been the happy person you see. But with you? Well, any idiot walking down the street would know that her heart is yours. That girl loves you so fiercely.. I don't even think time could change that."

Damn. Who knew Melina was such a damn sap.

"And. I couldn't imagine a better person to marry my daughter. I know your heart is in good hands and always will be."

She once again wipes some tears, though they've slowed down.

"It's a good thing we went with the waterproof mascara," she jokes, affectively getting me to smile.

She then gets a tissue for me as I calm down.

"I'm sorry. Bet you didn't think you'd have to stop me from almost blowing all of this because I was too happy, did you?"

She smiles. "I don't think you would have ruined anything. I don't think you could. I know for a fact that Spencer is out there with the biggest, goofiest grin on her face. And when she sees you? Well her heart might actually stop. You are beautiful, Nat. Let's go get you married to your girl, huh?" She offers her hand, which I take.
