Spencers POV

We left the meeting with an answer, but it wasn't one to really celebrate. At least not yet.

As Nat and I are walking out of the room to get some food, we're stopped.

"Hey, um, Spencer? Nat?" Wandas voice has us turning around to face her.

"Yeah, Wanda?" I respond. Nat just stands with me.

"I um.. actually have more to tell you. I just didn't want to do it in front of everyone," she speaks softly, kind of like she's worried.

"Oh really? There's more?" Nat says it with some attitude.

"Uh.. yeah," she looks down at her hands.

"Okay. Did you want to go somewhere to talk?"

"Yeah. If you don't mind."

"Not at all, how about we grab some food then we can eat in our.."

"In your room," Nat cuts me off.

"Okay."

So we made ourselves a sandwich with some fruit on the side and went to Wandas room.

As soon as we sit down, "okay, what is it, Wanda?" Nat says.

"Well.. Um. I may know a little more than what I was letting on."

"Are you fucking serious, Wanda?" Nat snaps.

"Hey, love," I place a hand on her thigh. "I know it's been a rough day, but let's just hear what she has to say, okay?"

"Fine," Nat still is not that happy.

"Go ahead, Wanda," I encourage her.

"Alright. Well I know I said that I didn't really know why your powers took so long to manifest.. but I kind of do."

      Well this has me intrigued.

      "Okay.. do go on."

"Well.. like I had said, we were close. And I did hear that you were suppose to be this super powerful person. And.. I was worried. I thought maybe they'd take you away or.. I don't know. So I may have messed with them a little bit."

       "Messed with them?"

"Yeah.. do you remember when your powers just kind of.. came to you?"

"Well, yeah. It was just a short while before I escaped. Or, well, you know."

"Right. Um.. I may have been making it so you and everyone else couldn't see your powers," she whispers.

       "Wait.. what?" I'm so confused.

"Well, I knew if you were the powerful person they thought you were.. I didn't know what would happen. I didn't want you to leave or for them to do anything worse to you.."

I scoff, "do anything worse than what they already were?" It comes off a bit aggressive, and I don't really mean for it to, but I mean, come on.

She flinched when I said it, "um.. yes. I know what they had me do. And I know they already weren't treating you right. I didn't want anything to change if they found out.."

"Oh, so you let them torture me to try and bring out the powers I already had so I could stick around and be your buddy?" Why am I being so mean?
