I was walking along the river Thames
going on my 10th kilometre by foot
my hands tingling from carrying my carry-on all day
and during the span of five minutes at least ten locals ran past me in shorts and a joyful step
and how there were all these walkways and metal poles between fancy-looking nine-to-five offices and even more grand apartment buildings that could make one feel incredibly small
and I couldn't stop thinking how badly I wanted that life for myselfyou know
if I could just reach my hand out and grasp it
