A room filled with some of the members of the police which includes Yagami Soichiro himself as they were waiting for a certain person's arrival.
Soichiro: Where is he?
???: He said he was coming but he has been taking his time.
Soichiro: *Sigh* could you try calling him again Matsuda.
Matsuda: O-Of course!
Matsuda Touta then grabs his phone to contact this person as another member of the police Aizawa Shuichi chimes in.
Aizawa: We should be focusing on this case right now. Do we really need to wait for him?
???: Yes, you dumbass!
Aizawa: What did you call me?!
Just then a figure came out of the shadows as he was munching on chocolate.
Soichiro: Mello.
Mello: You damn cops wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him.
Aizawa: Hey! we didn't ask for your help in the first place!
Mello: Who's the one who got info on Atsuomi's activities from his former subordinates?
Aizawa: Yeah, but you didn't need to kill them!
Soichiro: Aizawa, that's enough. His subordinates committed suicide so we can't fault Mello for that.
Aizawa: Tch!
???: Yagami-san is right. They committed suicide out of their free will to escape Mello's continued torture.
Another figure emerges holding some kind of action figure.
Soichiro: Near
Near: He's arriving soon enough. All of you, please be patient.
Just then the elevator that was meters away opened.
To reveal L himself.
Soichiro: Ryuzaki!
L: Good morning, everyone. Sorry for my tardiness. It's been a while since I've been wandering around Tokyo. Also, you didn't need to call me Matsuda. I was already at the building.
Matsuda: You were?
L: Check the elevator camera next time.
Near: Speaking of Elevator camera, who's this person on the elevator?
L: What?
He looked at one of the monitors across the room to see a boy standing there.
It was the same boy that Ryuzaki met in the cafe.
Aizawa: No way!!
Matsuda: How did he find this place!?
Mello: Hey! is that punk a friend of yours?
L: No, but I've seen him before. (How did he find this place? It should've been impossible for anyone other than those working for me to know the location of this headquarters.)
Just then the elevator door opens.
???: Heyyaah!!
Soichiro/Aizawa/Matsuda: Freeze!!!
They had their pistols up towards the boy as he raised his hands.
???: Hey, hey! what's with the reception? No need to be hostile.
