Costume Contrast

"Damn, I didn't expect for the actual classes to be exhausting as well." You stood next to Hikisaku's desk after your first day of proper studies, and you sat on her desk from fatigue, needing to throw yourself up slightly to do so.

She began to stand up, but you were in her way because of where you sat on the desk, so she picked you up by the waist to leave her seat, and plopped you back down again in the same position.

"I was honestly expecting much more than this. I figured there would be a lot more action." she said.

Sure enough, as soon as she finished her sentence, All Might popped his head into the room,"I AM HERE!" was how he greeted the class. Hikisaku leaned towards you and whispered,"You're not going to ask me who this is are you?"

Clearly mocking you, you decided to return the favor,"No, I have a better question. Will you shut up please? I'm trying to listen."

She looked up towards the ceiling, and with a sigh, she wrapped her arm around you. Then she pushed you off the desk with so much force that you flew for a second before touching the ground, stumbling for a while until you finally found your balance right in front of All Might.

"Eager are we young L/N? We're of them!" he said as he wrapped his arm around you and the two of you walked off.

"All right, All Might!" you said as triumphantly as he did, then you said softly,"Wait where are we going?"

You missed the whole explanation while talking with Hikisaku, but apparently All Might was taking you to get your hero costumes so that the class could take part in a Battle Trial.

Because you were whisked away by All Might, you didn't get the chance to speak with Hikisaku and the others until you put on your hero costumes.

From what you remembered about her design, you were able to find Hikisaku almost immediately, she was off to the side of the room you had been asked to wait in, speaking with Kirishima, to your surprise.

"Hey guys!" you said when you got close enough, but not too close, as you wanted to be able to see their whole costumes. Hikisaku turned to face you, and that's when you were able to get a full view of her suit.

It was a light grey suit that covered her whole body, and it appeared to fit a bit loosely over her, which was a good thing.

If it was any tighter, between her and Kirishima, there would be enough abs showing to build a person as big as you out of them. The suit wasn't completely bare, as around her forearm sat what looked like clear crystal in the form of armor.

Further down her arm, where her sleeve might have ended was five extra points of sleeve that went up to her knuckles. They were laced with reflective gold trim around the edges, and if she held her arm out, and the sleeve was to be lifted upward, a star could be seen around her hand.

Instead they just drooped downard the entire time. On her stomach was a golden circle, representing the sun, as golden lines extended outward across the suit to represent the sun's rays. From what it looked like to you, those lines seemed to stretch all the way behind her to the back of her suit.

The sun pattern was also on her knees, and although you couldn't see them, were present on her elbows as well. Finally, she wore boots that had that same crystal look found on her forearms, pieces of crystal jutted up from the boots at 5 points around her leg, again in the shape of a star.

Of course you observed all that in a few moments after Hikisaku turned around, because as she made eye contact with you, she snorted at what she saw.

"Yugo, did you even bother with designing your costume? I mean when I showed you mine, you hadn't even drawn anything up yet, but damn."

You scratched your head at all that, literally racking your brain for a response,"Is it really that bad? Kirishima-san?"

You turned to Kirishima to see how he reacted, and he turned to the wall and began to whistle.

Your hero costume was a mixture of a few different colors, orange, green, and varying shades of blue.

It really seemed like they were just blotched onto the suit at random, and the sizes of these blotches varied. On the sides of your body, were different words spelled out in English.

The left hand side had YUGO spelt out in capital letters, while the right hand side had FUSION spelt out.

The letters were entirely orange in color, and were outlined by a unique shade of dark blue. And of course, much like the rest of the clothes you wore, it was just a little too big for you.

Aside from the main suit, there were green fingerless gloves that had a familiar pattern of color placed right at the center.

The only thing that didn't make the suit awkward to look at was a massive utility belt around your waist, with all kinds of compartments of different sizes and shapes placed in it.

You looked down after Kirishima's reaction, then quickly looked back up.

"Well, no I didn't really design it. All I was really looking forward to was this." you said as you unlatched the belt around your waist and held it in your hands towards them.

Kirishima put an arm out so that he could take a look at it, but when you handed it to him, his arm gave out instantly. One end of the belt hit the floor as his arm was stretched open towards the ground, and a loud thud followed it, along with the turning of heads.

He did manage to hold it up eventually,"L/N-san?! What the hell is in this thing!? It's so heavy!"

Ida, Midoriya, and Uraraka came up to the three of you after hearing the sound of the belt hitting the floor.

"You were the one wearing that thing, L/N-san?" asked Ida in surprise.

"Is my costume really that bad?" you said, defeated at this point.

"Hm? No I wasn't talking about that! Your costume is an entirely different problem!"

That hurt you physically to hear, and you let out an "aw" of sadness.

You turned to Uraraka, who looked up at the ceiling and began to scratch her head.

Midoriya put it rather bluntly,"L/N-san, I don't think I would have come up with that even when I was three."

You turned around out of embarrassment, and Ida continued from earlier.

"I was talking about that belt. Just how heavy is that thing, no, why is it so heavy?"

You motioned towards Hikisaku, who had some point taken the belt and started lifting it like it was a weight, and she returned it to your outstretched arms.

You tilted forward right after she let it go, and you put it back on.

"Well, I figured I could just be a pack mule and carry all sorts of things that might be helpful. It's mostly stuff that I felt my quirk couldn't really do, so I asked for a lot." You finished your explanation with a smile.

"All right!" the unmistakable voice of All Might could be heard, "I'd say it's about time we let the Batte Trial begin!"
