---------------------------------------------------------

The next day, you and Hikisaku returned to the Shokan agency. When you entered, Director Lo was standing in the lobby, waiting for you two.
The only reason you realized that was because she was staring both of you down a few meters in front of the entrance.

"D-Director Lo? Is something wrong?" You asked, caught off guard by her stare.

"Yes, there is. I'm afraid that Kazero has.....taken a leave of absence."

"Eh?" Hikisaku let out.

"What do you mean?" You said properly for Hikisaku.

"He's gone. He unexpectedly quit late last night. It was spur of the moment, but it seems he meant it, since he hasn't come in." She explained.

"So that's it? Kazero quit just like that?" Hikisaku didn't sound pleased. She crossed her arms to listen to Lo further.

"It appears so. He did say that he'd continue to help with your.....work." She said vaguely, remembering you were talking in the lobby.

"Really? We haven't heard from him, unfortunately." You told her.

"He hasn't contacted you yet? Hm.....
Continue with your work then, I'm sure he'll reach you eventually." The Director ordered.

Then she shifted into her proper and orderly position, before walking off to patrol her agency.

You and Hikisaku exchanged glances.

"What the hell do we do now?" Hikisaku asked you.

"I'm not sure. If Kazero hasn't tried getting into contact with us, then it wouldn't hurt to try him."

"Oh right. He called you a couple times before right? You should have his number."

"Well the thing about that is, he actually called me using two separate numbers."

You pulled out your phone to show Hikisaku your call log.

"Uh huh. And why is that a problem exactly? Just call both of the numbers." She sounded disappointed that she even had to say that.

"Oh, well that's obvious Mimi! I'm just saying, I don't want to come off as rude by calling them both."

"Yugo."

"What?"

"Just call the damn numbers."

You scratched your head for a second before doing what she said.

The first number.

................................

It rang for a ridiculously long time. Then it gave you an automated response. There didn't seem to be a recording from Kazero.

The second number now.

.....

It immediately gave you a message saying that the number was no longer in service.

You ended the call. You stared at your phone for a little bit before looking up at Hikisaku.

"No answer? Really? What do we then Yugo?" Hikisaku sounded like she was trying to contain her frustration.
