No Chance

---------------------------------------------------------

Your eye opened slightly, before you closed it again from the sheer amount of light that seeped into it. You struggled to open them again for a while, but you felt that it was the only thing that you had control over.

'If I open my eyes, what'll happen? Will I like what I see? Will I see anything at all? I don't feel anything, the only thing I feel is my eyes. I want to open them so bad, but I can feel myself keeping them shut.'

'I need to know what happened. I need to see if everyone's alright.'

'I need to see if Mimi's okay.'

You finally built up the courage to open your eyes, and once again, light flooded into them. You didn't see anything, and that's because you were looking up at the ceiling, an expanse of white that amplified the lights that shone down on you.

You managed to move your head to the left and right slowly, but you barely registered anything you saw. You decided to look forward, and that was what allowed you to figure out where you were.

The door to the room you were in was wide open, and you were able to see the hustle and bustle of a hospital. Nurses and doctors paced up and down the hallway, rushing around to check and work on patients throughout the hospital.

You were pretty much ignored, with how busy everyone was, it was no surprise. Someone must have come in to check in on you, left the door open in a hurry, and no one else had the time to close the door on their way to another part of the hospital.

You looked around the room again, your eyes finally adjusted to the light, and saw that there wasn't anyone here with you.

'Alright, I'll just find everyone then. I can't be the only one of my friends here. Mimi should definitely be here too. If she's not here with me, where is she?'

You tried pushing your arms down onto the bed you laid in to push yourself up, but you didn't have the strength.

Instead, you rolled off the bed, putting your feet out so you could get to your feet quickly.

The second your right leg touched the ground, you felt the shock of pain shoot up your body. You began to breathe heavily, and tried your best to ignore it.

You continued to roll off the bed, and when your left leg touched the ground, you felt another, much larger spike of pain, this time in your stomach.

'Oh right. I guess they haven't had the chance to get to me yet. Or maybe they did, but I didn't have the energy to get healed by Recovery Girl. I don't have it in me to heal myself right now either, or to stand.'

Sure enough, you wobbled on your feet, the slightest breeze might be enough to knock you over. You shuffled around in place, looking across the room for any hint of your clothes, so you could take off the ridiculous set the hospital gives to patients.

On the lonely chair meant for visitors on the other side of the room, a set of your clothes was folded neatly. Someone must have had the sense to bring it with them, after seeing the mess that your clothes was left in, blood and all.

You walked slowly towards it, before realizing that you needed the support of the wall to stay upright. Your right arm crashed into the wall, as you had very little senses yet, and you felt a hint of pain as you did.
