Midoriya, Ida, and Uraraka gathered in front of the bed you rested on in the nurse's office, bleak looks on their faces. You were pale, a complete lack of color on your face, and were hooked up to a blood pack for the transfusion process.
The only sign of life that could be found was if you leaned in real close to hear the sound of your very soft breaths. A T.V. could be heard playing behind them, broadcasting the Sports Festival for Recovery Girl to see, mostly for situations like this.
"What exactly happened out there?" Ida pondered out loud.
"I don't know, but it wasn't like L/N at all." Midoriya said.
"It's not just that they were acting different, but they also didn't really look like themselves." Uraraka added, staring at you before turning over to Midoriya and Ida.
"What do you mean by that?" Ida asked her, but it was Midoriya who answered.
"She's right. It didn't even look like the person out there was L/N. Their eyes, their face they were almost like a different person. They were so intense, and angry, almost like..... Kacchan?"
"Right on the nose as always, Midoriya-san." came a voice from behind them in the doorway.
They turned around to see Hikisaku, who completely blocked the entrance to the room.
"I guess I better get everything straight here. Let me explain."
"We're not sure why it is, or if it's even true, but through their quirk, Yugo seems to be highly susceptible to emotion."
"Emotion?" the three of them said in different volumes, interrupting her.
"Yes, if they aren't careful, and don't attempt to keep their emotions in check, they start to take on the strongest emotions around them."
Didn't you ever notice that when I left for my matches, Yugo suddenly would get very quiet? They were trying to make sure nothing happened."
"Of course, Bakugo strutting around like a peacock was bound to make Yugo flip out and do the same."
This time, Midoriya by himself interrupted her,"But if that's true, then why have we just seen this now? Why didn't it happen sooner?"
"Hold on, that's the most important part, I'm getting there. This weakness of Yugo's seems to be completely ignored when they're around someone that they're close with.
Someone that they have a bond with."
"That someone is me. That someone has been me for a long time now, and it'll keep being me for a long time after. Do you guys understand? Yugo needs me. I'm protecting them from others by being around them."
"Let me put this in a way you'll understand, then. Yugo is NOT your friend. When you talk with them, hang around them without me being there, they're just copying your friendly emotions, and it just looks like you're all getting along."
"You've just been befriending a copy of yourselves, because the person you're talking to, that you think is your friend isn't even Yugo. That overly happy, cherry, person that you're "friends" with is NOT the real Yugo."
With that, she stormed out of the room, as if she made herself angry from the whole explanation.
The three of them grew quiet again, this time not because you were hurt, though that was still fresh in their minds. This time, they were thinking about their friendship with you.
"Not the real L/N..... What could she possibly mean by that?" Ida stood there, deep in thought.
"Do you think that's true? Do you think that we're not really L/N's friends?" Midoriya said, looking at you, before turning over to Uraraka and Ida.
