--------------------------------------------------------

As soon as Hikisaku's heel came down onto the floor, the crunching sound of the wood scraps underfoot was drowned out by the shattering of the windows behind her and the rest of Class 1A.

She had no time to even turn her head to observe what happened though, as it wasn't the only source of noise. The entire building began to rumble around them, the cause being something within Near Shadow, not an outside force like an earthquake.

Darting her eyes towards every crevice in front of her in a hopeless attempt to single out an origin, Hikisaku finally caught some movement that wasn't Psycher. For some reason, he was still floating in place.

The doors of the four elevators past him suddenly began to open, the ding of their arrival going unheard as the rumbling grew louder. Sliding completely open in unison, the metal boxes revealed their contents to be.....nothing. The elevators were empty, but Uraraka had her doubts that they came down alone.

Sure enough, people began to crawl out from the service doors above. That trickle of men and women soon became a stream of humanity when the elevator roofs collapsed. They flooded into the lobby by the dozens, seemingly coming down from the elevator shaft.

That wasn't their only way down. Of course, they used already available means such as the stairs from somewhere in the corridor out of sight. But they also created new ones.

In several places around the room, parts of the ceiling crashed down to allow people to jump in from the second floor. The same thing happened with the walls; a multitude of quirks were used to nearly destroy the sides of the Near Shadow ground floor, letting even more men pour into the already cramped room.

It was probably presumptuous to say, but most of the people that filed into the lobby were criminals. This was most likely where all the rioters around Coreleah disappeared to. Dispersed scarcely between the sea of villains were heroes, their colorful costumes making their presence almost impossible to miss.

If Hikisaku had to guess, they were the heroes of Block 1 that had mysteriously vanished.

This mob was under Psycher's complete control. This was his last gambit, though it wasn't any different from all his other plays. Just like everyone else he had thrown Hikisaku's way, they were a pawn to sacrifice for the glory of the king.

Unlike the others however, they wouldn't be nearly as great of an obstacle. Ignoring the horde that closed in around them, shuffling towards the class like zombies, Hikisaku made eye contact with Psycher once again.

He had kept his eye on her the entire time, a hint that he wasn't as confident as he appeared. Hikisaku fed off of this insecurity. The energy that she spent not fifteen minutes prior was immediately rejuvenated upon noticing the distress in his eyes.

She turned around, to observe the state her classmates were in.

They all had their fair share of injuries, just as she did. And just like she did, Class 1A had stalwart, yet unwarranted courage plastered on their faces.

On her way to face forward again, Hikisaku's eyes met Uraraka's.

The blood from her nose had continued to flow after being repositioned and cleaned. Though it had stopped some time ago, it left her with the damaged appearance that she shared with the rest of the class.
