--------------------------------------------------------

In the singular room that remained of the factory, if one could even call three walls a room anymore, Hikisaku laid on her side against the wall opposite of the one that had been destroyed in the blasts.

Miraculously, or if you asked her, obviously, she was more than capable of getting to her feet after everything that happened.

The issue wasn't injury, or the fact that her strength had been drained. She simply lacked the will. There was no motivation for her to stand up at the moment.

She sincerely doubted that Psycher was still here, especially after being distracted by Marafuji.

'Oh shit.'

Okay, maybe she hadn't escaped the clash unscathed. If she just blanked on Marafuji, a person she had been carrying only a minute prior, then her brain must have been rattled from slamming into the wall, at the very least.

But just because her mind was wandering, doesn't mean that her body shared in that difficulty. Sure it had been beaten, battered, and burned from multiple different sources, but that didn't stop her from forcing herself to her feet from one powerful push against the ground.

Without moving from place, she scanned the room in search of the old hero. Again, her brain couldn't have been running at maximum capacity, as he'd have to be somewhere along the edges of the room like her after getting catapulted.

That is, of course, if he was even in the room to begin with.

Her mind finally caught on to the fact that he should be in the room. The fact that he clearly wasn't is what made her consider the fact that he most likely had been sent flying outside.

That thought made her run out of the building almost immediately.

'God, I beat the shit out of him too. If he's pancaked on the cement somewhere.....'

As soon as she entered the doorway, what had happened to Marafuji became very apparent.

It was as she feared, but it was very much expected. Marafuji was strung out on the ground about twenty meters away from the entrance of the former building. The rest of the rubble managed to avoid falling on top of him, and it didn't look like he had slid across the concrete either.

The lack of blood underneath him was also a good sign, but some had pooled slightly near his face. It was most likely from getting his face smashed in by Hikisaku's boot, made worse by the impact of his landing.

She showed little remorse for it, but was slightly regretful as she reached his side.

'What a shit show. If I knew it was going to get this bad, I would've gladly traded a beam to the face to end this with one strike.'

She turned around to survey the extent of the damage from afar, the light of the flames allowing her to see in the darkness. The factory, which had been divided into two separate buildings, was half gone.

Almost entirely, actually, as the force of the explosions nearly toppled the adjacent wall of the other factory.

'I ended up taking one anyway!' She suddenly remembered angrily, spinning around to finally check on Marafuji properly.
