---------------------------------------------------------

The three of you sat around the campfire and ate for some time.

You still hadn't moved away from Tanahashi, so you decided to make small talk with him. He nodded along with your words, to show you that he was paying attention, and he would sometimes comment on what you said.

Hikisaku just stared at the two of you from the opposite side of the campfire.

Then, out of nowhere, you asked Tanahashi a question. The question itself, is something that has been on your mind for a while.

"Tanahashi, just how did you escape from prison?"

He turned his attention to you now. Hikisaku moved a little closer to the fire, to listen in, if Tanahashi even said anything.

"Well, I don't know if it's believable." He said.

"What do you mean?" You asked.

Tanahashi turned to face the campfire, so that he could be heard by Hikisaku as well. She wasn't exactly hiding the fact that she was listening.

"It's not much of a story. I was locked up in a cell, one that was designed for someone with a quirk, mind you, and I was just sitting in the bed. Biding my time."

He continued.

"Then, I heard a voice call out to me. I thought at first that it was from a speaker of some kind, but that didn't seem to make sense. No, it made less sense than that.
The voice that I heard was in my head, and it wasn't my own."

"What the hell?" Hikisaku said from across the fire.

"He didn't respond to me whenever I questioned him. Instead, he only spoke of one thing, an agreement."

"Trapped in this cell isn't something that was meant for you, my friend.
Do you wish to be free?
Do you wish to find the one who has wronged you?
Do you wish to restore your home?
Then I will release you. After you have done all that will bring you peace of mind, then you'll relinquish your services to me. What say you?"

"Is what he said to me. And my answer was obvious. Of course."

"After I agreed, the door to my cell suddenly opened. With the main problem out of the way, I used my skills to effortlessly escape."

"Hold on. The doors just opened?" You had to make sure you heard correctly.

He just nodded, before taking a bite of his food.

"This seems like it's obvious to me. Someone in that prison helped him." Hikisaku said.

"Mimi! Don't just assume..... I, that might be a possibility, actually. As much as I..... I can't rule it out." You were hesitant to say.

"If you only heard his voice in your head, then he must have been a psychic. They usually have a short range before they start losing effectiveness, so he must have been nearby." Hikisaku explained, since psychics were her specialty, after all.

"Even worse, the door opening by itself, it had to have been opened by its own mechanism. That really narrows it down to the prison. Shit."

You didn't want to believe it, but that seemed to be the best explanation.
Hikisaku didn't seem too happy about it either.

Once you finished eating, you stood up to walk back to your spot next to Hikisaku on the other side of the fire.
As soon as you were within her reach she pulled you down by your wrist, and held onto it.
