Before Hikisaku could move a muscle, Marafuji displayed an incredible reflexive ability for a sixty-two year old man. His arms already slightly raised, he opened his clenched fists to let out a burst of light from each palm.

In the darkness, it blinded Hikisaku with ease.

'GodDAMN IT! So that's how it feels!' She cursed internally as she instinctively brought her hands up to shield her eyes.

She managed to catch herself halfway in doing so. Her arms also out in front of her, she transformed them into energy and clapped them together to send out a flash bang of her own.

It was a defensive maneuver, but it was entirely unnecessary. Knowing what Hikisaku's capable of, Marafuji had used the couple of seconds of her inaction to escape from the room.

Not just that, he had actually fled further into the factory.

Of course, without her eyesight, Hikisaku was unaware of any of this. As soon as a sliver of her vision returned, she darted her nearly closed eyes around the lobby to finally discover that Marafuji had gone.

Now shaking her head around furiously, it took her a split second to decide her next course of action.

She planned on flying through the entire factory in a flash to find him. At that speed, she figured one strike was all that she'd need to take the old man down. The very likely possibility of her burning out didn't come to mind at all.

Hikisaku turned her whole body into radiant energy, illuminating the entire room to the point where everything within turned white. With little warning, she sped down the doorway in the wall directly ahead of her, past the lobby's front desk.

At her speed, she traveled through a metallic tunnel for a split second before finding herself in the factory proper. Industrial machines filled the ground floor, making traveling through what was essentially a maze as inconvenient as possible.

She was about to rise higher into the air when another source of light suddenly appeared ahead of her, seeping through the gaps in the machinery. A moment afterward, a beam of energy was fired directly at Hikisaku from one of the larger cracks between the machines.

Energy herself, Hikisaku had the reaction time and the speed to shoot herself to the right to avoid it. To conserve her strength, she turned back to normal the next moment, her momentum intact.

As she flew backwards, the beam still following her, she turned her head slightly to find the source of the attack.

At the other end of the beam, she made eye contact with Marafuji. The light from the beam that came out of the palm of his hand brightened his face, making his expression clear to Hikisaku.

The conflicted look he had worn earlier was gone. That blank visage of his told her that he would do whatever he needed to.
