--------------------------------------------------------

The howling winds played with your unconscious body, tossing you around like a migrating Monarch left to the mercy of the sea breeze. It was both a blessing and a curse to Uraraka, as it slowed your fall often enough for her to feel like she was gaining on you, while also making your movements unpredictable. Fighting against the winds to sway with you slowed her down as well, making an already extreme situation all the more difficult.

There was no room for error here. She was steadily running out of building to plummet next to, after all. A combination of skill, good decision-making, and the aligning of the stars was needed for her to be successful. Saving her friend was all on her now, and she wasn't going to fail.
She refused to let you die.

'You can't go, Y/N! Whatever happens next, whatever the future holds, both of our fates will be the same!' Uraraka motivated herself. It sounded like she would be content if the two of you died, but that was far from the case.

She wanted both you and her to live.

Dipping her body downward to stoop like a falcon, she began to recklessly pick up speed, hoping with all her heart that you wouldn't be thrown out of her range. Taking no chances, she stuck her right arm out to reach for you long before she neared you. Even in the darkness of the night, in a city without power, the ring on her finger managed to catch what little light there was to find.

'We made a promise to each other!'

For twenty stories, the gusts of wind thrashed you around too violently for Uraraka to act. She couldn't break from her pose and risk falling behind, all she could do was wait until you came back to her. And right after the two of you barreled past the forty-sixth floor, the time came. With more desperation than she's ever felt in her entire life, Uraraka made one final lunge towards you, to catch you, to make sure you didn't leave her again.

Her fingers came over your chest, but here, like many times before, instinct took over. Instead of grabbing ahold of your shirt, the same one you were wearing the day of your disappearance, Hikisaku jabbed the pads of her fingers into you, as if to activate the quirk that she had lost.

~Float~

To activate the quirk she regained.

Weightless under the effects of Zero Gravity, the updraft swiftly sent you crashing into Uraraka. Immediately, for both safety reasons and her own personal ones, she wrapped her arms tightly around you, slapping a hand onto her elbow to cause herself to float as well.

There, in that moment, everything was right in the world. The unpleasant sights and sounds of the sirens, fires, and clouds of dust from toppled buildings all around Block 1 added to the one pleasant thing to rise up from this catastrophe: the reunion in the heavens. The violent winds suddenly died down, allowing the two of you to gently float in place while indulging in a hug that was a long time coming. If Uraraka had her way, she'd hold you in her arms to make up for the week she had lost with you.

But that magical moment would remain a moment, as she pulled away from you after only 2 seconds time. Something about you had changed, and if what she was feeling was true, she couldn't be holding you as firmly as she liked. An arm's length away from each other, Uraraka could calmly observe what had become of you.

What she felt was confirmed immediately by what she saw. Your entire body had shrunk; it was already far from being the paragon of health, but your condition had only worsened. Your noodle arms were now twig-like, the slight impressions of your cheeks sunk further into your skull, and it was a miracle that you remained clothed from how loose everything fit.
