The alley boy sat on the bench, and stared out blankly in front of him for a while. He randomly blinked, the only sign of life that he gave as he continued to try and process what happened to him.
You gave him all the time he needed. You pulled one of the snacks you had bought out from one of the compartments on your belt and handed it to him. He seemed to instinctively grab it as it neared his hand, since he still stared out into space the entire time he did.
"Damn, did I kick 'im too hard?" Hikisaku asked herself.
You rubbed her back to console her.
"I'm sure he's fine Radiant-san. Just give him a few minutes, yeah?"
She turned to look down at you, saw the smile you had on your face, and immediately looked back up.
You just let out a light chuckle.
You turned back to the boy who sat in front of you. He had unwrapped the snack and has brought it up to his mouth. The moment he bit into it, he seemed to realize what happened to him.
He quickly ripped the snack away from his mouth, and looked up in fear as he scooted back onto the bench to get away.
"Don't even try it." Hikisaku said in a commanding tone, and the alley boy sat back down at attention.
"Tell us. You said earlier about someone sending you guys here? Who are "they" and where can we find them?" You asked.
He quickly shook his head no. The look of fear on his face seemed to worsen at the thought.
"No? You're not exactly in a position to say no. You're not in a position to even think, let alone go against what we're asking. So talk. Or else." Hikisaku finished cryptically.
"Radiant Lady! That's not how we're going about this!" You turned to scold her.
She threw her arms up defensively in response, and you turned back to look at the boy on the bench.
"No? Why is that? You look worried something, do you mind at least telling us about that at least?" You asked in a light voice.
He quickly shook his again, but he seemed to do it reflexively, as he spoke despite that motion.
"I can't..... If you guys show up there, they'll know it was us who told you where they are. I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!!" He suddenly stood up over you and began to shake you by your shoulders.
You just let him shake you in place for a while, then you placed your hands on his arms to get him to stop. He calmed down, and you slowly pushed him back down onto the bench.
You just smiled back down at him, and the fear on his face morphed into confusion.
"Is that all that you're worried about? If they're going to bother you, then we'll just deal with them!" You told him with confidence.
"You'll deal with them?! You can't just underestimate them like that!"
"Ha! If anyone is being underestimated, it's us. We were going easy on the five of you. If I wasn't worried about not knowing what quirks you had, I could've just knocked all of you out with one blow in the blink of an eye." Hikisaku said, with even more confidence than you earlier.
