You and Hikisaku gathered around a campfire with the rest of the class. You tried your best to sit down on a log without bending over at all, trying your best not to aggravate all the bruises on your chest.
Kaminari from his log just looked at you like you were crazy.
"L/N, what the hell are you doing?"
"You can ask nicer than that idiot." Jiro chastised him, flicking a toothpick at him.
"I'm trying not to hurt myself here, or at least not notice the pain that I'm in."
"Pain? What are you talking about?" Uraraka asked, not too far away from you.
"You're trying not to bend your chest, right? Is it because of all the times that the rocks hit you today?" Midoriya asked. More like answered, since he observed correctly.
"Right, I'm surprised they don't just go right through me at that speed, without me using my quirk." You said out loud, to the disgust of many.
"I'm trying to eat over here!" Mineta said from the darkest corner of the campfire, where he belonged.
You didn't even get to apologize to him, not like he deserves it, when Yaoyorozu chimed in.
"I'm sorry, but aren't you able to heal yourself using your quirk L/N-san? You don't appear to be tired, so you should have the energy to do so."
You just nodded along with what she was saying, before you answered her.
"Well, healing is the term that I use, but it's not like that at all. Sure I can close cuts and fix broken bones using my quirk, but it's not like I'm actually healing, I'm just using my quirk to fuse my body back together."
"Sure, we understand that." Midoriya said.
"I didn't!" Kaminari yelled out from wherever he was.
"Okay, but what exactly can't you heal that's bothering you so much?"
You looked into the fire for a moment before turning to look at him.
"Well, technically, everything that I heal still hurts afterward. My body keeps screaming at me that it hurts for a while, until it realizes that I'm fine."
"Except for impacts, that's probably the biggest weakness that I have. If something connects with me, and hurts me enough to leave bruising, I can't even heal it, so the pain lingers."
"That's what the training's for L/N. You should be avoiding those rocks completely before we leave this camp." Aizawa said to you, but it was really a message to the rest of the class too.
"Right."
Uraraka stared at you the entire conversation. She thought back to the Sports Festival, when Bakugo had scorched your sports uniform to reveal your battered body.
There were a few scars sure, but your body was dotted with bruises.
She looked further down, at the long sleeve shirt you were wearing, if she had to guess, it was to hide your arms.
'Even if they can't heal them with their quirk, bruises should heal naturally, right? Then why did L/N have so many of them back then?'
